Social Profile:

Maggie’s is a family and veteran owned sandwich shop located in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg at 820 Caroline Street. Our menu includes specialty sandwiches, subs, paninis, soups, salads, and desserts. Maggie’s brews and kegs our homemade craft root beer and cream soda in house and is served on tap. We also offer a large variety of chips and bottled drinks. Maggie’s is housed in an original 1825 building that has been recently remodeled to include an ADA compliant restroom and seating inside the building. The decor inside the building is represented by many different items related to the history of Fredericksburg. Our 2 tiered garden-style patio for outdoor dining is located in the rear of the building.

We tried it for the 1st time today and loved the experience. Friendly staff, good food, and decent prices. Felt filled from my sandwich.

I never knew this little spot existed, but I’m glad I found it! Everything was so delicious and their homemade root beer was so good. The employees were very friendly and the outside seating is shaded. Will definitely be back. 🙂

Maggies is a delicious Italian style deli in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg. I ordered the 51st NY sub (Salami, Pepperoni, Capicola, Mortadella, provolone, and toppings). I can assure you that this is as close to an Italian deli sandwich as you will find around here. My lunch date got the Ruben, which was awesome.

Staff was nice, food was what I expected but not really amazing. If you’re into subs and paninis this is for you. They did have an outdoor seating in the back. 4/5

Downtown has been missing a deli. This place fills that gap perfectly. Their sandwiches were excellent, as was the homemade root beer and cream soda. Better than average chip selection too with brands I’ve never seen before. I hope this place is successful!

The sub was tasty but the Italian Dressing (ID) they add onto the subs really threw off the flavor and didn’t taste that well together, I feel like adding the choice of oil & vinegar also would’ve been better but that’s just my opinion. I also ordered the Baked Potato Soup & Broccoli/Cheddar soup and both were okay but had a bland flavor to them which I had to add salt & pepper to consume the rest. I really love subs and hoagies so I will give them another try but overall for a first impression I have to give 3 out of 5 stars.

The staff are welcoming and there’s a large variety of menu items but the space is extremely small and customer service could improve. My first visit I arrived 30 minutes before close and after getting settled at a table was told they’d be closing in 10 mins. The second time I dined here, I didn’t realize the cashier missed my drink order so as I was waiting in line to purchase a beverage only I watched the cashier serve another diner despite me being in line before him and in the correct order area and then she let him have the drink free but proceeded to assist and charge me. The lobster bisque is one of the best I’ve ever had so if I ever returned it’s be for that alone. The veggie sandwiches were unfulfilling.

Very small inside seating area. Had the #7 ham and cheese and my husband had the Bromo. Both sandwiches were just OK. I honestly could have fixes these at home. Nothing special. I regret not getting the lobster bisque. Root beer was great. Staff was OK. I wouldn’t return due to the basic food.
