What a sweet little spot! The service was especially accommodating, and the baked goods are incredible. The breakfast was good. I asked for over medium eggs and they were hard. The bacon and the potatoes were close to burnt, but it was all servable and good enough to eat. We sat outside, and it was really nice weather ️!! We lucked out in late September with 75° for breakfast around 10:30am.

The baked goods are incredible and I highly recommend them, along with their delicious coffee.

Great food if you like clean organic and fresh this is the place ,good service and the atmosphere is very relaxing other than a little cold for morning breakfast we were freezing but for some reason there was a male hostess running around in shorts and t-shirt also it was a little pricy for breakfast

Awesome place to go for breakfast. Many times there can be a wait, depending upon what time you go. The atmosphere and ambience is very warm, inviting, communal. It has a certain charm to it. The service was great, everyone was very friendly. We had such a lovely time there. It is worth the wait!

Mae’s….. where the food is delectable and served with Love (my eggs were even heart shaped!). This iconic little cafe delivers every time. My gracious server (Paige) was as sweet as the amazing cinnamon rolls and brought ‘Service With A Smile’ just like the good ‘ol days, so rare in this modern world. Three thumbs up (even though I only have two…).

Mae’s Cafe – miss it, and you’re missing Bath, Maine.

Mae’s is definitely a staple in the area! Conveniently located just off of RT.1 but far enough into town to give you the flavor of Bath, the restaurant also has all the charm of a historical building with the updates of modern comfort. The staff are all very friendly and happy to answer questions. Even on a busy day (we visited on Fathers Day), service was prompt. Once we placed our order, it took about 45 minutes to get our food, which is long, even for the holiday. It was all pretty tasty, but the home fires were all burnt and the pancakes were not super warm, so I am guessing that some cook forgot to make something. Overall, still very enjoyable, but not perfect on this trip.

Wow! Right or wrong, I often judge an establishment on their preparation and execution of French Toast. I know it seems like such a trivial thing, but when french toast isn’t done right, it’s such a disappointment. I had stuffed French Toast at Mae’s Cafe and I have to say it is among the best I’ve ever eaten! It is sweet without being overly sweet. The toast is perfectly prepared, no sogginess. Each of its ingredients compliment each other for an amazing tasty treat that any French Toast lover will truly appreciate. The testators clean, the staff helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Mae’s Cafe & Bakery!! PS we took home several other treats to have later, we just couldn’t resist!!

Went there in early february. We had been there before and liked it. We were the first customers that day. I ordered a breakfast burrito which was very bland and had a very off, chemical taste like maybe of the chemicals used to clean the grill. I could not finish it. My wife had oatmeal which was fine. Don’t be the first customer and order off the grill!

Mae’s is a staple of Bath for a reason.
With delicious baked goods that you can buy and take to go as well as a full sit down menu for great breakfast options like eggs Benedict, french toast or Belgian waffles they are a spot that won’t disappoint. I’d recommend a reservation from May-October.

Made it here for the first time this past Sunday, despite it being highly recommended by my local friends for years. I tried their corned beef hash, while my date who is a Benedict critic, went with one of their surprisingly many options. Probably the best tasting corned beef I’ve had out and about. Unsure if it’s slow simmered in something or seasoned, but it was great. I wish I remembered which Benedict we tried, but it was average I guess (according to her )

Saw the bakery rack kinda empty on this visit. Wasn’t too busy for a Sunday morning either.
Parking here can be limited. If it is busy, one might have to park away and walk.

Would definitely return to try other things!
