This pizza was very tasty. I have nothing bad to say about it but I would not say it’s out of this world must try Pizza.
In the attached pictures the pizza that we ordered was a sausage and mushroom large deep dish. The sauce was very tasty and the ingredients were very fresh. The dough was not overly doughy. The best part of this pizza was the sauce.
Overall definitely a great place to stop and get a pizza. Definitely better than most places you’ll stop to get a pizza especially deep dish here in the Quad City area. Something that they could improve on would be the crust. Essentially think of this pizza as a deep dish hand tossed Pizza Hut dough as the crust. I prefer more of a light and Flaky buttery crust pizza.
If you are looking for the best deep dish pizza in the Quad Cities check out Tony’s in Moline.
We got the taco pizza. Which honestly I think it wasn’t the best. They didn’t use the taco chips, they were just plain Doritos. And there was no red onion, and there were hardly any tomatoes. The meat on there, idk, it tasted like middle-school, school-lunch walking taco, on a pizza crust. So. With that said. I will never get that again.
Just because I didn’t like it, doesn’t mean you won’t. And by it I ONLY mean the taco pizza. I have yet to try the traditional pizza flavors, and I can update my review at that time. I’ve actually been eyeing that Chicago deep dish, we’ve had friends say it’s sooooooooo good!
We have had their tenderloin, their breaded mushrooms. The tenderloin is massive and could totally be shared. The dips they serve appear to be home made. Which just totally levels up the experience!! There’s just something about home made ranch that makes me want to do a happy dance.
They truly do have fantastic food. I think this is an excellent addition to Colona, and as always, I’ll be back! Maria’s fan for life!
Great service, huge portions, and fantastic food.
At first glance you’ll notice that it’s a very simple decor. You seat yourself. We were immediately greeted by the server who took our drink order. As an appetizer, we chose the bacon cheese fries. A few minutes later, a large plate of bacon and cheese goodness landed on our table. I was amazed how much there was. I really expected a plate for two. We ended up having two portions each and enough to take home for leftovers. For our entree, we chose a large stuffed half cheese, half sausage pizza. When it arrived at our table, we noticed that it’s had a bit to much sauce on top. The cheese taste raw and not salty like mozzarella normally taste. It would be more satisfying if the stuffed pizza had been put through the oven prior to adding the sauce topping. This way you get that slight burnt cheese goodness that we all crave. Flavor wise, the pizza was bland.
The kitchen decided to identify the cheese / sausage sides like this. They put cheese on top of the pizza sauce topping and said that was the sausage side. The other half that just had sauce was the cheese side. I felt it should have been the opposite but what do I know? Yet, when I served myself from the side that had just pizza sauce that was supposed to be cheese and it turns out that it’s sausage. It was too confusing for me. Maybe next time I’ll just try to pan pizza.
The bill for the fries and the large stuffed pizza with two drinks came to just over $49 + tip.
