I have been dying to try Mad Greek since they opened up in Knoxville and I finally got the chance to yesterday. Let me say I was not disappointed. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is friendly. We ate inside but there are two patio areas if you want to sit outside. The food came out of the kitchen fast and we were all impressed with everything we ordered. I love the zesty feta dip and pita chips. It was the perfect way to start off dinner. My daughter opted for the Stromboli and the crust was the best. To find out they make their own pizza dough. My hubby had the traditional Gyro Pita with a side of fried (with feta and oregano.) He couldn’t eat the whole thing because it was so stuffed full and the fries were perfectly cooked and just crispy enough. I ordered the Greek chicken with Greek potatoes. The chicken was amazing and I loved how moist it was (even when I reheated my leftovers today.) We saved some room for dessert and were blown away with the baklava, cannoli, and German chocolate cake (which was humongous.) The cannoli was out of this world and I was so happy to find it stuffed with a traditional Italian cream. We cannot say enough good things about the place and will be back for sure. The prices are reasonable and we will be back here again.

This place is fantastic. While off the beaten path and a little different than the franchise locations nearby the food is superb. My hubs had a layered dish with artichoke and eggplant. I opted for the chicken pita. Both were very tasty and delivered piping hot and seasoned to perfection. The staff was friendly and attentive but did not hover. We opted for desert but neither of us know what kind of cake we chose but it had cheesecake between the layers. While this could have been overtly rich, it was the perfect blend. We will be back!

Found the place by accident. Service was a bit slow getting started but once the waiter came to our table he was very attentive and food came out quickly. I had the Moussaka and my wife had the Greek Chicken. It was excellent. Our meal was under $50.00 for two entrees, a cup of soup, stuffed grape leaves and coffee. The portion sizes were large enough that I just finished my lunch today on the leftovers!!! I would sincerely recommend this restaurant. By the way, the coffee doesn’t fool around. Its coffee!!!! I half jokingly asked the waiter if they had forgotten to put water in with the grounds!!

The Wife and I went on a Wednesday. The atmosphere is alright. The gyro dish I ordered appeared to be more like ground meat formed into thick slices. My Bride had Leg of Lamb which looked more like a slice of Turkey with gravy from a TV dinner. Mine was okay, hers was NOT APPETIZING at all. She only had 4 bites and I took a bite and spit it out. The food serving size is pretty big. It seemed a little pricey for what it is. We have wanted to go ever since it opened but we were disappointed. Great staff and friendly, but the food is not worth it.

One of the best unintentional nights out we have ever had. Food was great and the staff were well trained and comfortable with their menu. Terrance is the epitome of a true professional. Knows how to make his clients feel at ease. Smoothes over any situation without before it gets out of hand. Would drive back from Kentucky just for this place.

Not good at all. I have been to the Mad Greek in Johnson City and it was awesome..the atmosphere, the service, the food..the restaurant itself is beautiful. This Mad Greek, unfortunately, did not rate on any of those points. The restaurant smelled like a dirty kitchen..the food was, at best, mediocre, the service was ok. The waitress forgot the salads, however, she did have the mgr take it off bill. I was really hoping for a better experience, don’t think I’ll be back.

Been here twice now and it’s amazing. The food is great and the staff is very nice. On our first visit the manager noticed that my wife’s lunch was a little over cooked and immediately had it remade and took it off of our ticket. I highly recommend this great place!

I am not a lover of Greek food, but this was delicious. I wasn’t sure what to order, so the waiter brought out a sample for me to try. The food was hot and tasty. The service was very personalized making it a fun and unique experience. There was a hiccup or two with one of the orders…in the kitchen, but it was quickly corrected , actually it was resolved before we even noticed it. Even the bartender was excellent….best long island iced tea EVER! We travel that route from KY to visit a daughter in SC and look forward to stopping there again. I would highly recommend this place.
