The food was good. The brisket was better than I had at two other restaurants recently. Other people had the she crab soup and said that it was good. The appetizers were very good the carmari and crab dip the hush puppies were nice and crispy on the outside and not greasy. The sweet potato waffle fries were perfect. But the service and the atmosphere at Mack’s barge is what will bring me back.

Nice spot! I had a burger with jalapenos, onion rings and bbq sauce, it was great, the wife had shrimp tacos, and our 6 year old had her first burger. The food was delicious, and very reasonably priced. Our server, Ray was attentive, thorough, and just all around treated us like friends. He kept our drinks full and kept us updated on wait times on our appetizer and entree’s (they were pretty busy and had a good sized party inside). This was our first visit to Mack’s and we will definitely be back!

This is a great place to spend a relaxing evening or maybe even a date. The food was incredible with only a few negatives like the burger being slightly overcooked and lacking a little bit of sauce (this might just have been the burger I ordered). Service lacked a little bit with this being fully dependent on the server serving you. If you choose to sit outside you have a wonderful view onto the adjacent lake and all its maritime life. Overall I highly recommend this establishment as it offers high quality food to a reasonable price and a great view. With a little luck on your server it would be 5 stars across the board.

Very friendly staff and some good food. The bread pudding was fantastic! Good beer selection as well. Not a huge parking lot so when it is busy it might be difficult to find parking, but overall I would recommend it.

First time here. Went for Brunch. Sat outside. Our waitress Susan was phenomenal. The food was okay. I had to add salt and pepper but worth going. The bread pudding and mimosa float were good. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I will go back

I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful the food and atmosphere where. I had tonights special brisket and rock fish. Each item had a unique flavor that tantalize your taste buds. Definitely recommend and I will return to try even more menu options.

Great location along the water. I occasionally kayak over with guests for lunch on the water. The seafood is an attraction but it is often a fun place to be. Prices seem reasonable and the location along the restaurant strip on Colley Avenue and near Old Dominion University helps you feel part of the scene with a mix of ages. I haven’t had a bad meal here. Wait staff are quite good. Desserts are usually excellent with special additions for holidays.
