Discovered this little gem restaurant on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30 pm. It appeared they had just finished serving a Sunday buffet brunch. We ordered from the menu and weren’t disappointed. Food is fresh and served in generous portions. My husband ordered the signature burger and I ordered a pot roast sandwich. There is a quaint little general store when you walk in the door which reminds me a lot of Cracker Barrel. Overall a great restaurant.

I ordered an Autumn Sangria and a chicken tenders dinner (side of green beans and sweet fries). The drink was great! The dinner was just okay. The dinner cost around $16-17 and was pretty big. But unfortunately, the chicken tenders were hugely disappointing. They were very dry and not super flavorful. The bright spot was the sweet potato fries that appeared to be homemade. The ranch was also good – creamy and great for dipping. The fixings that came before the meal are generous portions and include a decent sized bowl of cottage cheese, a large bowl of coleslaw, and a basket of dinner rolls and some sort of sweet brown bread. I didn’t try the sweet bread but it sounded like it may have been banana and was enjoyed by others in my group. All in all, I would highly recommend this place for large groups. The dinner food is just alright but the drinks and atmosphere are perfect for a last minute dinner with a large group!

Who doesn’t love a good Carrot Cake and mouthing watering savory grilled shrimp, fresh bread, vibrant cold slaw and well seasoned green beans? This lunch was colorful, plentiful and well seasoned with every morsel dancing to a tune of goodness. This is another good eatery in Urbandale where we can support our local farmers — here you have an option of scrumptious choices!

At Machine Sher Restaurant we split a couple of appetizers as a late afternoon snack. The fired mushrooms were very good and the stuffed potato skins were good as well. Both were generous portions and our server was very friendly. Nice place.

An abundance of butter and salt makes everything at The Machine Shed a tasty delight! Breakfast is delicious. Lunch is delicious. Dinner is delicious. I lean towards the pork. Their preparation is superior to other places in the state. It’s hard to find a better restaurant apple pie. It is light all the way through and a real treat. The service is fantastic. It’s a place that embraces “The customer is always right” motto.
