I love this place, and have been coming here for several years now on my birthday. Always good, even with a few missteps this last time. Burger and fries was great (huge burger, although fewer fries than I remember from last time, I thought that’s probably not a bad thing healthwise), Chicken fingers were delicious and it’s a lot of chicken which is great. I was able to bring back half a burger and half the chicken fingers for dinner the next day. There was a little snafu on our two sundaes I need ice cream in each was wrong. They realized it as they brought them out and they were going to redo them but we just took them as is so it wasn’t wasted. Sundaes definitely need more chocolate sauce and more peanut butter sauce though, there was barely a drizzle of each and it was all on the bottom. Prices are on the higher side, so our expectations are as well. Place was nicely decorated for Christmas too.

My family and I went to Mabel’s recently for the first time. It was a cute restaurant. Loved the atmosphere of the whole place. We were seated right away. Our server came right over to take our drink order. Our server was very attentive the whole time! The menu had a good variety of choices! From food to ice cream!
We ordered an appetizer, the appetizer sampler. It was very good. It was enough for the 3 of us, and if we had our other son it still would have been enough. Then it was time to order our main meal and it was a tough decision but I settled on the Copenhagen burger with fries. It was delicious! I asked for lettuce and tomato on the side and it came with it. It wasn’t listed on the description.
Mabel’s is known for their crazy shakes and ice cream, so I ordered the chocolate sundae, my husband ordered the peanut butter sundae, and my son ordered a traditional milkshake cookies n cream flavored. It was very good, but I thought for the size of the sundaes we ordered the price of $12.49 was pretty steep. Overall it was very good and I will be a return customer!

We ordered 2 burgers with fries totaling $32. For that price, we feel like there should have been more fries. My husband’s burger (the good morning burger) was very bland- even with the bacon.

End of July, we came for dinner after haircuts in the same shopping center. It was 6:30 pm. Strike one was the restaurant was uncomfortably hot- probably 80 degrees.
It was about half full, and of the groups at about 4-5 other tables, it looked like only one other group was ordering food and not just ice cream. It still took almost 40 minutes for 2 adult burgers with fries, 2 kids grilled cheese, a kids burger, and a fruit cup and side of more fries. My 18 month old was very restless so I let him toddle around- he fell a few times and came up with black, sticky hands- I realized the floor was disgusting.
I asked our waitress what was taking so long, and she said they got a big online order. Since when do you fill online orders and make people sit in your restaurant for over 30 minutes? Finally our food comes, as the waitress sits a group of a dozen teenagers down. We had not even taken bites of our meals, and the waitress says, “do you want to preorder ice cream?” No, I want to wait until everyone has finished their dinner before any ice cream is ordered. I was upset that she asked this loudly in front of my young children. I told them no, that they needed to eat their food before we ordered ice cream.
The quality of food was not good. The amount of bacon they put on a bacon cheeseburger just to justify the extra charge is laughable. I went to use the mustard and the top of it was disgusting, crusted over with old mustard. We ate what we could eat an about 20 minutes after receiving our food, tried to place an ice cream order. Our waitress informed us it would probably be another 15 or 20 minute wait just for scoops of ice cream in bowls, because the large group of teenagers next to us had put in a big order and it was only her and one other girl in the restaurant working on scooping ice cream. We paid our bill and left. I will not be back.

Of work into these shakes. We did the shake flight. They had a lot of sold out flavors but that was okay because they do have a lot available. The shakes themselves were not good. I took my 6&9 year old we took maybe a few sips of each and we were done. Lots of sugar! It’s almost too much but they were beautiful shakes. We had outside seating it was not very clean. But it’s a pretty laid back place. I’m happy we got to try it but looks like a one time

We went for shakes and sundaes only. We did order an appetizer platter as well. Everything was phenomenal! I just can’t say enough good things! Folks, you gotta try this place! The shakes were huge! You could share the sundaes with no problem at all!! They are all like three desserts in one! The day we went the ac was broken. It was horrible hot inside. At 97 degrees it felt cooler outside than in! That’s not their fault though. The staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely try this place!

The food and service were absolutely amazing! My only criticism would be that I think when someone comes in with a birthday, they should offer something more than a candle. Obviously their crazy shakes and sundaes are too much to offer for free. I would suggest a free kids meal for a child’s birthday, and 20% off of the meal of an adult who is dinning with them on their birthday. It’s merely a suggestion. All in all, we had an amazing experience! We were there for my son’s 8th birthday.

My family and I decided to give Mabel’s a try. When we arrived the restaurant had two other families inside ( we went at prime dinner time). Our service was horrible. We had to ask for our drinks 10 minutes after placing our drink order. The young man was pulling his phone out and playing basketball. We also had to ask two times to pay the bill. After 10 minutes of waiting I went to the front cashier and asked to pay my bill.
I will say the patty melt and cheeseburger was very good ; however the milkshake we got was very “soupy” and ingredients that were listed was not in it. We also got the rainbow cake and sadly disappointed as well.
We witnessed another family that walked to food lion to get a water bottle and had to send her salad back two times to be corrected ♀️

I read some the review I have to say I do not agree with them. This is a very nice little burger and shake spot. I had a Mables burger fries and a shake. Burger was cooked as I requested. The bread was fresh. Tastes great. Better the five guys . The shake was very good. The French Frisch where the frozen kind. BUT they where hot and tasty.
The staff is very nice. Quick to get my order. And consistently made checks on me to ensure I had what I needed. They are a bit high price on the burgers but it is worth it. You get what you pay for.
If you ever in their are, stop in and give them a try. I look forward to going back. Note: I they where on Cart Street in Richmond, they would be killing it.

It was our Anniversary so we wanted something different.
Well, we were not disappointed, the service was great, the food was phenomenal and dessert was out of this world!!
