If I could give them -10 stars, I would. I went here Sunday, Jan. 26 bc of a false advertisement that I’d been seeing while scrolling Facebook. They said they didn’t have the special (1 snow crab cluster and 1/2lb shrimp for $28.99) but they had another special for $38.99 ( 1 snow crab cluster, 1/2lb shrimp and a lobster tail)… we ordered 2… proceeded to go to the bar for happy hour drinks (also advertised); bartender said the special was only for 3 drinks… I got one of the 3 and it tasted like juice… sat down to wait for the food and noticed how we never warmed up yet. Asked the waitress if they could turn on the heat, she apologized and said that the heat was out. The weather was -10 outside. Our food came, and was cold like the temperature. Overall experience was terrible. My first and last time. I won’t be back.

A pretty good spot for Cajun seafood. We had Fill your own bag and ordered shrimps, snow craps and muscles. We added corns, cauliflower and potatoes with Everything sauce. We also had cornbread. It was all delicious. The place was clean, cutely decorated, and some old-school r&b in the background. Just be ready to get your hands dirty and don’t wear white clothes.

I love this downtown location. It’s always clean, quick service, great portions for the cost, well seasoned and balanced food ( not overly salty or over seasoned), and just a great atmosphere. My only concerns are that it is often cold in the establishment ( this could be because of the loftstyle ceiling or the location of the building), I’m not sure. In addition, I believe it is unnecessarily dark in the hallway leading to the bathrooms and the women’s bathroom. Women need to be able to see what is going on in that space for hygiene and sanitation purposes. I couldn’t see anything in the stall because it was so dark. It might have been a great concept originally, but it doesn’t make sense with the rest of the restaurant being well lit. Plus, I would want to know the stalls and bathrooms are being cleaned appropriately. It’s pitch black in there. Those ceiling lights do not provide enough light to see when you are in the stall. It’s brightest by the sink, which makes no sense.

Weak service . Nastyfood some weird fluff in sauce. Bartender had a bad attitude. Food had no flavor but was dripping in some nasty sauce. Would not recommend. But that cornbread was sensational

This is a very interesting place. Visited for a birthday celebration. A table was reserved however there was no server. Had to place order at the counter and order dinks crom the bar. The concept was so confusing and the food was very pricey.
Had the wings with bbq sauce shrimp bag with potatoes, corn, potatoes and hot sauce.
Overall the restaurant is not a caliber of what it appears. If I’d known about the concept, I would not have visited.

Tasty Seafood boil. Nice place to eat with friends and family. I would have loved more beverage options.

I’m a fan! Came here on a Saturday night and was seated very quickly (no reservations needed.) You have to place your order at the register, and I was glad to see they have several options for people who don’t want a seafood bag. I went with the popcorn chicken and fries and enjoyed it.
The portions are massive and their lemonade drinks are very legit. Even tho they have a bar, I stuck with my strawberry lemonade for this trip.
The price isn’t the cheapest, so if you’re going for the seafood bag and a drink, expect to drop close to $50 a person. That said I enjoyed everything I tried and would go again

I’m a Chicago native, but this was my first time going to Low Country. I got the lobster special $38.50 lobster tail, snow crab, 1/2 lb Shrimp, corn, potatoes, cornbread. It was pretty good, but they are stingy on the sauce. My corn was really cold in the middle like they didn’t let it boil long enough it was still frozen. I told them about it and they did bring me 2 more corns out, but those were also very cold in the middle. The same for the crab legs at the top of the cluster, but I decided not to complain and ate the parts that were good on temp. I believe they are short staffed bc the bar wasn’t open. I also got the sangria, they had 1/2 off certain drink specials. It did not taste or look like a sangria at all.
The decor and atmosphere were cute. They decorated for Xmas and gave out low country Xmas hats.
I probably won’t come here again bc there are other crab boil places with more menu options in Chicago and surrounding areas I enjoy, but that is not to say others shouldn’t try it out. There are tons of people that do enjoy Low Country, it just wasn’t for me.

This is my second time at Lowcountry and I swear they never doubt. It came down to me taking off the gloves and just diving into this amazing seafood boil. The flavor was perfect with the everything sauce and I highly recommend picking weak or hot. I ended up getting hot and I was very satisfied I felt like anything more would’ve been overpowering but that’s just base on what your spice tolerance is. This place will forever be my favorite spot to get seafood and it has been so far! I should be back real soon thank you Lowcountry!
