First time there on a Friday night. We only had to wait about 15 minutes for seating. It was busy in a good way. They got people in and out without feeling rushed. The fried green tomatoes was good but different than what I was used to, they used yellow tomatoes not green and topped with parmesan cheese. I ate most of them. The fried jumbo shrimp and fries was delicious. My wife got the scallops which was good she said but thought they were punched fish instead of the real thing. They were all exactly the same size. Next time we are in town we will go back so all in all it was good.

I was in a group of about 15 people. I ordered my food first and was the very last person to receive mine. Matter of fact everyone else was already eating and the waitress asked me what I ordered and said she didn’t have an order for me. When I finally got my food, the steak tips and mashed potatoes were good but the baked beans had a weird taste.

First, the restaurant’s floor was dirty with dropped food, it was all over my shoes, and although the decor is nice the mess was a bit disappointing. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was just ok. The okra and hush puppies are very good, the tilapia as well. The shrimp, scallops, flounder and fries sadly were not. Worst for me was the rice, it was greasy and overcooked. For the price the food leaves a lot to be desired.

We are new to the area and have been wanting to check this place out. We tried on Friday afternoon but the place was so full there was nowhere to park…sign of a great restaurant! Indeed, we called in our order and took it home. Oh my! So delicious! My sister got catfish, jumbo shrimp, scallops and clam strips. I got flounder, calabash shrimp, scallops and clam strips…all fried on both orders. Delicious and generous portions. My flounder was too thin and as a result was just crispy without the juicy fish but everything else, spot on! We also got a slice of cake each. We thought $7/ slice was a bit steep…til we ate the cake. OMG! So very good. All the food was well worth the cost! Thank you!! ♥️

Was in town today and decided to have lunch at Captain Larry’s. Always a great choice. My wife had the Calypso Chicken and I had the Hungry Fisherman Platter. The flounder was delicious, the calabash shrimp fried squash and fries was right on time. The waitress was very nice and did an excellent job. Always a pleasant experience when we stop by and at a reasonable price. I highly recommend you trying lunch or dinner here.

Disappointed from start to finish!!! My food was served without any utensils. The server was inattentive and not engaging whatsoever. The Cali Bang shrimp tasted like is was just coated in a Yum Yum sauce, no seasoning whatsoever. The scallops were just coated in flour and fried, again no seasoning. The steak salad had water at the bottom of it, gross! Not to mention the only dressing offered was ranch. No salt or old bay on the table to season my bland food. Not worth my time or money. Tasteless soggy food and lack of good service.

At first I thought they were closed but they have built a nicer, larger, new location on the other side of the street. The food is very good. Calabash at its best. My friend ordered a burger but was not impressed. But that is expected in a seafood specialty restaurant. It was good enough that he ate the whole thing. The turnip greens were so salty they were inedible. But I think it was just a mistake in mixing the spices. It is usually so good. They replaced it with fried yellow squash. This was so good that it made up for the very rare error. I highly recommend this place. But if you have a long winded minister you may find a long wait. Cheers to the owning family!! Oh and you must get some of their gourmet cheese cake for dessert.

My wife and I are there for the first time on a Friday. The food was amazing, server was absolutely awesome, and the price was unbelievable. Two meals, two drinks, and a blooming onion(that’s better then Outback) was only 43. Great place! We will be back.
