This is a small spot, good for lunch. I went on a weekend, but they have better weekday lunch deals. The hush puppies were good, simple no onions. Shrimp and grits was decent. The shrimp is definitely fresh and cooked well, but the grits themselves were kind of plain. Would try other things there next time.

My wife & I just had a wonderful 2 piece catfish meal. I got the Cole Slaw, Hush Puppies & Baked Beans. My wife had the French Fries, Hush Puppies & Corn. A very nice young man named Jason took our order. He checked on us regularly and when I mentioned how fantastic his customer service skills were he replied “it doesn’t cost anything to be nice”. What a concept. We have always had great customer service and food at the Low Country Shrimper, today was no exception.

My experience at this restaurant left me thoroughly impressed, especially with the Shrimp Po-Boy sandwich. Despite the common tendency for fried food to lack flavor, the sandwich was made to perfection and well-seasoned, providing a satisfying taste with every bite. The staff were friendly and accommodating, creating a welcoming atmosphere that felt like family from the moment I walked in. Seafood lovers who appreciate top-quality cuisine will enjoy this place. The vibrant and family-oriented atmosphere inside the restaurant adds to its charm. I highly recommend checking out their reasonably priced lunch specials, as well as their larger dinner-sized meals that provide good value. Additionally, the crinkle-cut fries were cooked to perfection, which is another notable point to consider. Overall, if you are looking for a great seafood experience, I highly recommend this restaurant and its Shrimp Po-Boy sandwich.

I have to say that I was honestly impressed. Fried food has a tendency of being bland but this place was anything but. Everything was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. Everything tasted better than expected. I’ll DEFINITELY be back and highly recommend the place as a foodie, local, and as a personal recommendation to anyone that has a love of seafood done right. Inside atmosphere was vibrant and friendly. Feels like family from the moment you open the door.

Dishes we had

1. Popcorn Shrimp basket with Ocra, red rice, and hushpuppies.
2. Shrimp and scallops plate with ocra, corn, and hush puppies

Have dined here many times without any issues until today. I was with my husband and service dog and upon entering the restaurant, I was stopped by a young man. He denied me entry to the restaurant and told me service Dogs weren’t allowed in the restaurant. We let him know that my dog is trained to do tasks to help me and he was not in compliance with the ADA. He didn’t care and we left. Sadly, we won’t be dining here anymore.

Nothing unappetizing to report. If you like fish camps, this is your place. Granted it was my first visit and I aired on something fried, but I was playing it safe. I wanted the crab cakes, but when I asked the lady taking my order, I got no answer if they used real crab meat. (And she didn’t offer to ask the cooks).

Solid fried fish but not elevated. Left full but underwhelmed.

Make me happy next time.

Absolutely great find! Delicious food and very welcoming family that runs this local business. The seafood platter was loaded with shrimp, scallops, and fish (chose fried perch and catfish)- our of oysters for the day. My wife had fried and grilled scallop basket. Sides of fried corn, red rice, and baked beans were also perfect. Business owners are very personable and happy people with contagious positivity 🙂 great portions for the price. And open for sit down meals and takeout! A must visit when in Mauldin.

Ordered fried jumbo shrimp, red rice, corn, and fried okra. Everything was delicious. A few popcorn shrimp were mixed in but all good. Very reasonably priced too. Just in town for work but would come back if I lived nearby. Fried okra was the winner.

Got the salmon patties very small and very little salmon in the patties mostly breading, side salad was wilted did not taste fresh. Red rice not much flavor. I would not recommend this dish but my wife had crab cakes and grits and I sampled it and it was delicious. I hope that the owner will take my comments to heart.
