The Louisiana Cafe was born April 1, 1995, seeking to revolutionize the common conception of a local breakfast eatery. In the many years that we’ve been open, we’ve continued to reinvent ourselves in the pursuit of creating the perfect dining experience for our customers.
Casual family spot for hearty American breakfast & lunch eats & classic soda fountain creations.

Good food, hash browns are cooked nicely but give a spaghetti noodle vibe in the mouth. Omelet egg is a little over cooked making them a tad bit chewy. Will go again!!!

One of my favorite breakfast/brunch places in St. Paul! The Carnitas Benedict is my go to. Their waffles and pancakes are amazing too if you’re looking for something sweeter. Always my go to recommendation for people looking for a great meal with sizable portions! Everyone I have suggested come here or brought here myself have absolutely loved their food!

I loved ❤️ my first visit to this place. Honestly I googled Black owned restaurants near me because I am Pro Black and I’d like to support my community and I’m noticing that when you get to a place it’s not Black owned so the listing is misleading but I don’t mind supporting diverse groups. What I did like about this place is that it’s big and has plenty of seating, it was clean! the coffee is rich and smooth the food was great very big portions ! But….can get pricey for one person. My bill came up to $38.07 plus the tip $5.07

So super cool and cute place, unfortunately just zero ability to cook a nice meal. Hash browns were cold and had a terrible flavor. Eggs were atleast cooked the way you wanted them, the 3 pieces of bacon were all over the place, raw, over cooked, and okay, again didnt taste great. Its an older diner experience, so id hope to get a nice flavorful warm meal. Coffee 4.50, meal almost 18* which was 2 eggs, hash browns, toast and bacon. Way to pricey and zero flavor. Server was nice. Unfortunately wont return, enter at your own risk.

This is undoubtedly one of my favorite spots to indulge in a fantastic meal. From the moment you step through the door, the warm and inviting ambiance sets the tone for a delightful dining experience. They serve an incredible Cajun breakfast that never fails to impress. On this trip, we couldn’t resist the Cajun breakfast again, and it was just as exceptional as I remembered. The dishes are bursting with flavor, expertly seasoned to capture that authentic Cajun seasoning.
In addition to the breakfast, we treated ourselves to the crab cake Benedict, which was a revelation. The crab cakes were perfectly cooked nice and tender on the inside while boasting a beautiful, crispy crust on the outside. Each bite was a delicious balance of rich flavors and textures that left us craving more.
One of the standout features of this place is the generous portion sizes. You definitely get your money’s worth. I always leave feeling full and satisfied, which is a testament to their commitment to quality and quantity.
Our server, Bryan, truly elevated our experience. He was not only fantastic in his service but also impressively knowledgeable about the entire menu. He made thoughtful recommendations that enhanced our meal, and he was attentive in making sure our coffee cups were always full, even during the height of the breakfast rush. It’s a rare treat to find such attentive service in a bustling setting.
Additionally, the location is a definite plus, complete with a spacious parking lot that ensures a hassle-free arrival. There’s also ample street parking available, making it convenient for anyone looking to visit. Overall, this spot has a perfect blend of delicious food, fantastic service, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a must-visit destination for anyone craving a hearty and flavorful meal!

When I lived in the Twin Cities many years ago, The Louisiana Cafe was my go to breakfast spot. On a return visit to the Twin Cities, I decided to revisit some of my old haunts and I am happy to report that the Louisiana Cafe is exactly as I remember: the Tex Mex is still delicious and too large for one human to safely eat by themselves; the caramel rolls still melt in your mouth and create pure joy; and the cafe is still a great place to chat with old friends while drinking a never ending cup of coffee.

We had a delicious breakfast! The breakfast platters were all around $17.95. A little pricier than usual but we were not disappointed when it arrived. The servings were massive and could easily feed 2 people!

I have lived in the Twin Cities all my life, but finally went here for the first tiem. Food was pretty good, but not quite worth the price. There are a multitude of other restaurants that have lower prices for better food quality. But this place is a classic and definitely worth the visit to find out for yourself. My one experience might not be an accurate portrayal of they normal food.

This is the last time I will patronize this establishment. I’ve visited there a couple times before and had fairly good experiences. I went there today with a friend. I ordered the vegetarian burger and it was good. However, my friend ordered the Greek Omelette and asked for their hashbrowns to be crispy (versus soggy). Their food was so bad – it was shocking. What they got was an omelette that was about a half an inch thick. The eggs were so overcooked they were chewy and hard to eat. The hashbrowns were about a quarter inch thick, greasy-looking, and so overcooked they had no softness whatsoever and were also impossible to chew. My friend stopped eating it after a couple bites. He requested that the item be taken off the bill and chose not to order anything else. When we received the bill, we were surprprised to see that they had only taken half-off his terrible food. When I questioned the waiter, he said that he and the manager “reviewed it” and they were refusing to take the full price of the item off the bill. I have never encountered such disrespectful customer treatment in a restaurant like this before. It was so obvious from the foods appearance that it wasn’t prepared correctly. We paid the bill and left, leaving no tip for the waiter who I saw on his name tag was a supervisor and involved in this insulting customer treatment. I’m so embarrassed for suggesting this restaurant and putting my friend through this terrible experience.

Louisiana Cafe has, without a doubt, the heartiest omelettes I have ever seen. They are hefty, chonky, thicc. My partner and I each ordered one, as well as a pumpkin pancake, and we barely touched the pancake and were still completely full when we left. The omelettes are well worth the price, a great deal.
The coffee was also delicious, piping hot and well brewed.
Staff were fantastic, very attentive and friendly.
Louisiana Cafe is a great place for a hearty breakfast! It is very roomy as well, so there is plenty of space to sit!
