Since discovering this place almost 2 years ago, we have been big fans! We follow a low carb/keto lifestyle BUT we like to have the occasional cheat meal. When we want Mexican Food, this is one of our go-to spots.

We live in the area for couple of years now and finally decided to try this couple of months ago for very late lunch. Unfortunately, good was greasy and no flavor including the salsa (was very disappointing). The staff were nice but for as many people that were working at the time, there was still a wait to be seated and getting to order. It wasn’t a busy time at all and the place wasn’t full, so it didn’t make sense. Seems to cater more to their regulars than to all customers. Rather drive out more for better food.

First experience I ordered the el pastor tacos. In the meat was a full blown artery. It looked like a plastic tube of some sort. I took it back and showed the owner and he said “It’s an animal. What do you expect.” Well I don’t know about you guys but I expect to not get an artery in my meal. No other restaurants put it in their meat.

The service was so bad, considering we were the only party in the place and she forgot my order within 30 seconds and had to clarify by hollering from the service system.

We eat here quite often. So I go for chicken enchilads and cheese one, We like the Chile con Carne sauce and love the verde sauce. We get the charro beans and refried. We love the spicy salsa and always get two. One son loves the Chile relleno and the other whatever the special is.

Warning! I’m done being disappointed.. the horrible service here, foods disappointing under season taste, and the small portion size, for how much money they’re charging. I have seen a dramatically spiral going downhill just in the last four months! This restaurant is dark, dingy and filthy. The seats and table top were all sticky. Im so mad about the bad service and food, I will no longer be wasting my time and money traveling to Los Pinos.

My sister got her wife a heart shaped box to fill with tacos for valentines day, we took the box here and they went above and beyond for us! Amazing customer service, will definitely come back! The rest of our food we ordered was good was good too!!

This is one of the more authentic Mexican places around Lakeway. Great salsa! Loved the Mexican martini and enchiladas. The fried ice cream is a must have! Great prices as well and friendly staff.

Los Pinos typically delivers a tasty meal. We stopped at their smaller location in Lakeway, where we’ve been before. The salsa was excellent, along with the chips. My enchiladas with mole sauce was yummy. Unfortunately my sister got 2 plates in a row with what she said tasted like rotten cheese. No Bueno. Sometimes cooks take short cuts and don’t throw away product that’s old, she explained. She’d know for having been a chef for 2 decades plus. Too bad, because it’s usually good.

Once upon a time, this joint was the culinary equivalent of a shimmering oasis in the food desert that is the bend. Now, it’s more like a mirage that leaves you parched and regretful with a tummy ache. What was once our weekly pilgrimage for brunch has turned into a depressing journey into the abyss of disappointment.
