I enjoyed breakfast with my wife and daughter here. I ordered two fish tacos. There was so much fish on them that I could eat only one. It was delicious with pico de gallo and lemon from their extensive salsa bar. My wife and daughter shared a breakfast burrito and saved some for lunch. We ate in their outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. They have a small grocery with some fruit fresh produce as well.

5 Stars – Crispy Taco Love at First Bite
Just tried my first two tacos from Los Pericos Market and the shredded pork crispy taco was incredible—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly made. I left special instructions on DoorDash, and they followed them exactly. After delivering from here for a while, I finally understand the hype. Don’t forget to ask for their custom hot sauce—it’s a game-changer. The tacos were so big I had to take a two-hour break between them. No exaggeration.

This is a really good halal restaurant here in Santa Cruz. There isn’t much of a halal restaurant here in Santa Cruz, and this has been a go-to for me recently. The owner is extremely nice and generous with the portions. Unlimited Chips, and there are a lot of exotic snacks.

The best taqueria in Santa Cruz! Big portions, big menu, super fresh ingredients, and authentic flavors. Great salsa bar. Outdoor patio bench seating. Also has is a Mexican market.

The food was okay at best, and it was the smallest burrito I’ve seen in my life. Typically I consider a burrito to be a meal, but this was more of a mid day snack. I can’t say I’ve eaten a burrito before and still been hungry. The flavor was alright, but overall it just wasn’t impressive.
In the past, I’ve had good experiences with this place, but it seems that with the change in management, the quality has dropped significantly.
As for their salsa bar, you could tell the salsa was not fresh (all of them had seperated, and the pico was yellowing), so I left it.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place was well kept, but it seems management has changed the menu, reduced portions, and removed key items such as carnitas and pastor from the menu.
Overall, it just wasn’t what it used to be, and there’s better options nearby.

One of the best burritos and tacos that I’ve ever eaten there the flavor is good, but what really stands out is the tenderness of the chicken meat that they serve so good so juicy

Try to at least figure out a carnitas-style chicken (use thighs)… My burrito had tomato sauce in it today? I imagine pork and alcohol must have equalled ~30% of total sales. I can understand change in ownership switching to halal (though the carnitas was legendary), but all the other changes to menu seem like either a rookie move or gross over-confidence. The shop had so many regulars. I hope they can return to center a bit. I used to eat there 4 times a week. Now with the bridge closures, delivery takes forever. I’d probably be doubling that number except the burrito I finally tried today for the first time since they switched the menu just wasn’t good. It was cooked well, the cook made it well. But it didn’t taste like the Pericos super burrito I loved so much. Genuinely want this place to succeed — hope ownership considers.

They have a beautiful little shop. The food is really good. Just want to put it out there coming from me long history of Mexican heritage. My taste buds are Mexican and I know when it’s real good this was real good. we will definitely be coming back. We live all the way in San Jose. So far one of my favorite spots when we come out to the water.

Nice little place to get good taqueria food. There are so many great taquerias in town and this one is in the middle of the pack for me … good but not great. I wasn’t fond of their salsa and I really miss a good taqueria salsa bar like Vallarta or Taqueria Santa Cruz at this place. My beans were only Luke warm and didn’t even melt the cheese on top. That said it was overall pretty tasty and I want to go back to try something else.
