I took my senior living residents here for our monthly resteraunt outing. We had been looking forward to getting some authentic delicious Mexican food. They don’t get to go out to eat often so when we do, it is a real treat.
We went at 11:30 a.m. and were the first and only customers at that time.
Our waitress disappeared and we did not get our drinks or order taken for 20 minutes after I had to go find her. During that time a fairly large group came and was seated in another room. The other group was served drinks and got their orders taken and received their food before we did.
When our food arrived after waiting more than an hour it was all completely wrong. Wrong meats, no modifications that were specified. We did not send it back as we did not want to wait another hour for correct food. When we asked why our food took so long to get there we were given the excuse that the kitchen was backed up. However, again we were the very first and only customers there.
The halibut dish that was ordered was burnt. The hot chocolate that was received was watery and cold. The salsa was definitely not authentic. We have had salsa out of a jar that tasted better with more flavor. Rice was bland and dry. Chicken tacos no flavor and dry.
The refried beans and chips were good and that’s all about our experience that was good.
The room we were sat in was leaking water from the roof. Absolutely no pride in the cooking, atmosphere, service, or respect for customers. This place used to be good and now I will never go back.

We love to go on Saturdays for the medium dinner special. But please be aware….you actually have to mention you want it as the special or they don’t give you the deal. However, our server, Mindy, was excellent. She was super attentive and quick to bring anything we needed, including refills. The chips and salsa is delicious! Will definitely eat here again!

We come here often. On our last two visits, we were seated and waited over 10 minutes before I had to ask someone to take our order.
Today, after waiting 10 minutes again, we moved ourselves to a different table and were immediately helped by Mindy. We have had Mindy as our server before, and she is fantastic—she truly knows how to treat customers.
Unfortunately, the hostess was a different story. Not only did she seem unsure of what she was doing, but she also approached me in the middle of our meal to reprimand me for switching tables and told me not to do it again. As we left, she gave a disingenuous “thank you” along with a very crusty look.

There’s a reason this place has been here for 20+ years. It’s a great place to sit down with the family or have a business meeting. A go-to when you’re in the Linden/Orem State Street area.

This is one of the original American style Mexican restaurants in the Utah area. The Lindon location is definitely the best.
I love the salsa that comes with the chips. It’s delicious.
I love the shredded beef. It’s amazing. I almost always get the smothered burrito when I come. It’s a shredded beef, cheese burrito smothered in green chile verde sauce served with rice and beans.
Speaking of the rice, it’s some of the best you can get.
Desserts are also very good with a great fried ice cream or buenuellos.
Don’t go there looking for authentic Mexican street food. Take it for what it is and enjoy the food.

Spent two hours, not intentionally, here with two kids under 5. Our server was very kind, but the time between ordering and receiving our orders was exceptionally long. When the food arrived, it was very bland and the meat was dry. It was edible, but could hardly be called Mexican food. Taquitos were unflavored beef wrapped in an atleast a crunchy corn tortilla. Tacos, again were fine, just no flavor to the chicken, plus extra dry. The most egregious dissapointment was the price for very mediocre food. Expect to pay the price for a mid tier restaurant for food that you could buy frozen from the store.

It was just ok. We had reserved a room but they sat us at a table in the main part of the restaurant and didn’t tell us why or anything. I had to go to the desk to ask why we weren’t taken to the private room. That’s when they told me that the room had flooded with all the rain that day. Understandable. But they didn’t say anything until we asked. A quick phone call would have been nice. The chairs were super rickety and the table was sticky. Our waitress was amazing and so sweet. If we could have picked her up and taken her with us to a different restaurant, we would. We were a large party (why we reserved the private room) and I’m sure it was overwhelming for all the staff with the flooding, large party, chairs falling apart…plus it was a Saturday night. My dish was great (chimichanga) and so was my husband’s. Not everyone in our group was 100% satisfied but you can’t win them all.
