We decided to sit at the bar, since football was playing. However, their tv was on mute and there were no captions which required me to make up commentary in my head but I digress.
We placed our orders and they made the pizzas in the oven off to the side of us which was cool. The pizza sauce and crust is TOP TIER. However, the Sprite was very mid—almost like it wasn’t carbonated enough. It definitely didn’t taste like a Mcds Sprite (if you know you know). Overall the food was great though.
I will say that our experience with service was mixed at first. The initial person who took our order seemed unenthused like they were having a rough day and didn’t really want to be there, which was a little off-putting. But I get it.. life be lifin.
However, the second person who helped us during our meal turned things around. They were friendly, attentive, and much more upbeat, which made a noticeable difference in how we felt about the visit.
Despite that small hiccup, the food more than made up for it, and the overall experience was positive. I would absolutely order from Local Pizza and Brew again and would recommend it to anyone looking for great pizza in a laid-back setting.
10/10 would recommend, even for pescatarian and vegetarians.
I feel bad they had to work on New Year Day, but we’re grateful they were.
Go check this place out…. You won’t be disappointed!
Would of loved to have some mead. But sadly that wasen’t on the list this week. Over all great spot. I will be back.
I was hoping to have a great experience but unfortunately, it was more mediocre than amazing. I agree with other reviewers that the ingredients are indeed fresh and the crust if very thin.
Unfortunately, too thin for me. My pie came hot out of the pizza oven, moments after being pulled from the fire. The bottom of the pizza was already soggy and the only way to eat it was with a knife and fork it was so wet. Was difficult to enjoy.
The beer menu was short but enough with IPAs, and light beers available. I tried the Bingo beer and it was absolutely delicious. The staff was knowledgeable and made great recommendations. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The Brussels Sprouts were out of the ordinary. Not over spiced. I can’t wait to go back!”
Definitely check them out!
Appetizer: Bruschetta Pesto – $8 I started with the Bruschetta Pesto, which was a delightful way to kick off the meal. Priced at $8, this appetizer features fresh tomato, garlic, basil, and mozzarella, all on perfectly toasted bread. The flavors were incredibly fresh and vibrant, with the basil and garlic complementing the juicy tomatoes and creamy mozzarella. It was a simple yet flavorful dish that set the tone for the rest of the meal.
Entree: Fig & Goat Pizza – $15 For my entree, I chose the Fig & Goat pizza, priced at $15. This pizza was a true masterpiece, combining white sauce, provolone, goat cheese, fig jam, arugula, rosemary olive oil, and sea salt. The crust was perfectly baked with a nice char, providing a wonderful texture. The combination of the sweet fig jam with the tangy goat cheese and the freshness of the arugula was absolutely delightful. The rosemary olive oil and sea salt added a perfect finishing touch, enhancing the overall flavor profile.
Drink: Funcktastic Waffle House Mead – $8 To accompany my meal, I opted for the Funcktastic Waffle House mead, which was $8. With a 6.5% alcohol content, this mead had a unique buttery maple syrup flavor that was both intriguing and satisfying. It paired wonderfully with both the appetizer and the pizza, adding a sweet and slightly complex note to the meal.
Overall, I highly recommend everything I tried. The Bruschetta Pesto was a refreshing starter, the Fig & Goat pizza was an inventive and delicious entree, and the Funcktastic Waffle House mead was the perfect drink to tie it all together. I can’t wait to return and try more of their offerings.
