Little Daddy’s Gumbo Bar is the best spot in Galveston! You absolutely have to order the Mumbo Gumbo, it is massive and loaded with shrimp, crab, oysters, chicken, sausage, and prime rib. The dark roux is rich and flavorful. The vibe here is energetic and authentic, especially watching the steam kettles cook right at the bar. The service was fantastic too; our server was fast and friendly despite the crowd. If you want great food and a fun atmosphere, this is it!

We had the fried alligator, garlic bread, seafood gumbo, and chicken sandwich for lunch. The fried alligator was the best. We didn’t like the gumbo too much, and the sandwich was pretty good. The chicken sandwich doesn’t come with fries, but the waiter just added them there and charged us for it without asking us if we wanted the fries or not. Overall, it’s a pretty good place to eat when you are in town.

Probably the best gumbo I have had, including my La travels. The smaller “famous” seafood gumbo is a bargain, and 16 ounces is giant. It probably had a half dozen oysters and 12 shrimp (deveined for sure) in a dark roux that was amazing. The appetizer Creole Seafood Empanadas with crawfish etouffee over the top also was served piping hot and was flavorful, with a nice kick. Picture below is the 32 ounce!!! The staff and manager were absolutely fantastic! Raini was our server. She was very attentive. Caroline the manager checked on us several times. This was our first time here! We will definitely be coming back with our entire family. The food tasted fabulous and the quality was top notch. Recommend 10/10!

The Holy Spirit guided me into this establishment on the 14th of November. My sister and I took an impromptu day trip to the beach in honor of the one year anniversary of our mother’s passing. I packed a small cooler full of snacks because I thought we were going to eat a light lunch on the beach, picnic style, but God had other plans for us. Believe me when I say that God’s lunch plans were far better than anything that I could have possibly imagined.
We ordered (and split) the Mumbo Gumbo and Little Daddy’s House Special with Catfish and garlic bread on the side. In all honesty, the food knocked our socks off! It was AMAZING!!!
Neither my sister or I have ever had a gumbo quite like that before. The dish literally had everything in it but the kitchen sink.
Truly divine.
Big shoutout to our wonderful server, Cornell, who treated us with hospitality, grace and kept our waters filled to the brim. God bless you, sir! I have prayed to God many times for you as requested. I do not know what struggles you are currently going through, but believe me when I say, “WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER”.

Steam pot Gumbo is the way to do it. We walked in and were the only people in there. I’ll be honest everyone seemed a bit grumpy. As we ordered they all got over it and were absolutely the friendliest. Garlic bread and gumbo were delicious. We got coconut shrimp and Etoufee to go for later. I don’t like coconut shrimp but this was really good. They didn’t cook the Etoufee so when I heated it up it wasn’t over cooked. I love the way they do the Gumbo and can’t wait to come back.

I’ve been here twice now. The first time we got the gumbo which I wasn’t too big of a fan of. The second time I tried something different and it was pretty good. We got a fried shrimp plate and The Bayou garbage (which was very flavorful). The drinks here are really good too and strong.

The Best Po Boy and Seafood Gumbo I’ve ever had! The service is great and the food is on par. Our server Cornell has a great personality and was on top of it, the food came out fast we even ordered oysters late and they came out quickly, definitely recommend.

LDGB did not disappoint from the time we were seated by the Amazing Cornell! We each ordered a cocktail and got the ball rolling!!
Started of with some Swamp Fried Alligator Bites, served over fried pickles.. amazing!!
Next.. the weefie orded the Fish Sandwich, a huge crispy fried catfish filet on a potato bun with all the fixins.. soo delish!!
Then I ordered the Bourbon Street Platter which had chicken and sausage gumbo, crawfish etouffee, char grilled bacon wrapped gulf shrimp over jambalaya with Cajun green beens.. oh brother.. add a side of red beans and rice and I was in heaven!!
Couldn’t leave without trying the New Orleans Style Beignets… it’s almost as if I knew what up was doing!!
If you’re ever in Galveston, look this place up, but get there early cause this place gets packed!!
