I stopped by yesterday since it was right across from my hotel, and I’m so glad I did!
A huge shoutout to my waitress, Tess, who was working the busy bar area. Despite the crowd, she was incredibly attentive to everyone. I asked for a spicy margarita, and she delivered—it was perfectly balanced with a great heat.
For food, she suggested the Chipotle Chicken Tacos since I love spicy food, and they absolutely hit the spot. They had a nice kick and were packed with flavor. Even the chips and salsa were impressive; the salsa was thick and chunky, not watery like at many other places.
To top it off, Tess was kind enough to give me some local suggestions on where to find the best Maine lobster. She is a true gem and made the visit a joy. Highly recommend!

Let me preface this review by saying Mexican cuisine is not one of my favorites, and you will NEVER hear me say “Let’s have Mexican”. Apparently the rest of the world feels differently. Myself and two companions arrived at Margaritas a few minutes before they opened. The chips and salsa arrived very quickly and were refilled as much as we requested. I had a melon flavored Margarita, one of us had a Ranch Water, and the other had a beer. My drink was very tasty, as was the Ranch Water. Both were also very Tequila forward.
Probably the high point of the trip was my introduction to Tajin fries with Tajin aioli. Crispy, salty, citrusy with a hint of smoke. These were delicious and fun. I will also add that even the fries themselves, if they didn’t have the seasoning, would have been good.
I think one of the reasons I don’t love Mexican cuisine is because I don’t care for heat. I am a spice wimp and do not enjoy spicy food. The table salsa that came with the complimentary chips was tasty but too hot for me. That being said, we all got appetizers for our entrees. I got the Mayan shrimp, which was 4 or 5 battered, fried shrimp on a bed of shredded lettuce with pickled red onion, street corn, 3 pepper sauce, and diced avocado. It was an attractive dish when it arrived. The shrimp themselves were quite good, the pickled onions were a great accompaniment to the shrimp, as was the avocado. I should have requested no sauce. I think I would have loved it if I had. Unfortunately the heat level left me scrambling to find more avocado I was given, as it helped with the heat. I also wouldn’t have minded more than the 3 kernals of street corn. It’s definitely a good dish and the fact that it was too spicy for me is on me, not them. Both my friends had Hector’s quesadilla, one with carnitas and one with Birria. They came with guacamole and sour cream. They looked nice and my friends enjoyed them. Even though they were appetizers, both had leftovers to take home. None of us had dessert. Our server was training a new hire. Both were friendly and helpful. Our waitress new the menu well and was able to answer all our questions. We weren’t in a rush per se, and we did have cocktails to start, but all in all, we were there the better part of two hours.

If you’re anywhere near Augusta, do yourself a favor and stop into Margaritas Mexican Restaurant. I had the Chipotle tacos with a side of freshly chopped jalapeños, and they were absolutely delicious. The flavors were bold, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with care. Every bite had just the right kick!
What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Our waitress was unbelievably attentive. Even while juggling a busy shift, she made me feel completely comfortable and well taken care of. She offered thoughtful dinner suggestions and recommended a beverage that paired perfectly with my meal — and she nailed it. Her intuition and attention to detail really stood out.
Great food, incredible service, and an all-around fantastic dining experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Lots of seating options and great server today. Liked the food, but somehow didn’t love it. Seems to be heavy on a particular chili spice or something like that that we didnt care for. But fresh food and good portions. Love trying new places when traveling especially so it the spot for that.
2 tacos, taco salad with chicken, and hand held chicken burrito with rice and beans.

Our server was the only one to show up for his shift today, 2 others no call, no show. Noah did an amazing job keeping up, keeping positive and kept smiling. There was a large party(over 20) plus many other tables filled on a Saturday afternoon. Margaritas Augusta, reward Noah and the staff that DID show up today 2/28/26.

We are regulars at those locations and really enjoy it. My husband always gets the steak fajitas, he said they were great tonight. The rice was good, queso is always good; I liked the quesadilla extravaganza, the beef was a really good fit. Kass was on top of everything, bringing refills of soda before having to ask, and checking in. I asked about the new cinnamon pear margarita and she said she liked it so I gave it a shot… I didn’t like it so she offered to take it off the bill. It was an enjoyable date night and Kass was great!

Food was absolutly fantastic, service was the greatest I’ve seen in quite awhile. Milani was our server and was an absolute blast. Friendly and on top of things, she made this a great time. The food was wonderful, the 2 lbs taco challenge (I failed) tasted spectacular and was very well priced as well.

“I’m actually quite surprised by my experience at this restaurant. This review is based on the plate I had, and I have a few thoughts to share.

Firstly, the chips could benefit from a little less salt. However, I must admit they were still good. The sauce, though, was impressive. As someone who enjoys spicy food, I felt it could use a bit more kick, but it was still enjoyable.

The Mexican setting of the restaurant added a vibrant and inviting atmosphere to the evening. The warm, cozy lights created a perfect ambiance for a relaxed meal.

Now, onto the highlight of my meal – the fajitas. I ordered both chicken and beef, and let me just say, they were seasoned just right. The combination of the tender meat and the mix of veggies, peppers, and onions took the flavor to another level. One suggestion would be to season the rice with a chicken seasoning from Texas or California, which could enhance the overall dish. The beans were pretty good as well.

Moreover, I was impressed with the excellent customer service throughout my visit. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu, and their recommendations were spot on. They were quick to attend to any requests, ensuring that my dining experience was smooth and enjoyable.

Despite the minor seasoning preferences, I would definitely consider coming back to this restaurant for another meal.

To wrap up the experience on a sweet note, I indulged in dessert – churros served with ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate. It was the perfect way to end the meal.

In summary, my dining experience was a mix of surprises and delights. While there’s room for some improvement, the overall quality of the food, the warm ambiance, and excellent customer service make this restaurant a place I’d be happy to return to.”

Our server was delightful. The food was typical Tex-Mex. It was very tasty. Kudos on the salsa. It had a good spice to it and I’m a big fan of the thin, delicate tortilla chips. We would also recommend the margarita flight as well. It lets you try four at a time!

I went in tonight, hoping to eat food. After 45 min in an almost empty resturaunt I was told my response to if I want to order disrespected the server. I have never been treated so rudely. When I put my head down and asked for a different server, she went and got the manager who I was told left, to leave the restaurant. If you look at my attendance you will see I have slowly stopped going to the restaurant. I did not get my free tacos in 2025 even though in Oct 2024 I did the challenge. I only got oneessage from margaritas about the free fish tacos. The unit I downloaded the margaritas app on is a dead phone. It is the only restaurant I have downloaded and it was because an employee did it for me in 2024 when I did the October challenge. They see the ones that take either my phone number or email to put in stuu on yalls app. I do not do it. Typing this to you since you have no phone number so I can talk in person like a human.
