Now, onto the entrees, which unfortunately weren’t the highlight of the night. I had the churrasco steak — it was a bit lacking in flavor and slightly chewy. The sauce portion was small, and a little extra churrasco sauce with some sea salt would have really brought it to life. The potatoes were underwhelming, and the corn salsa serving was tiny and needed more seasoning. One friend had the meat pizza, which was also a little flat in flavor and could’ve used more crispness. Another ordered the paella and was disappointed — it tasted more like minute rice with seafood placed on top, lacking that rich, flavorful sauce and freshness a real paella should have. For the price, it just didn’t deliver. The lemon burger was a bit dry, and while the bacon jam was okay, it didn’t quite make up for it. The Caesar chicken salad received no particular comments.
For dessert, we had the waffle ice cream (which turned out to be an ice cream cone rather than a waffle with ice cream on the side — unexpected, but we made it work for sharing). It was good, especially with the pistachios. We also had the churros, which were tasty but a bit small for the $11–13 price tag, and the ice cream should be served on the side. Luckily, we had the pistachio cone to pair it with.
Ambience-wise, the restaurant is really nice inside. I originally requested outdoor seating but ended up inside, and I’m glad we did. The lighting, decor, and cushioned booths made it feel cozy and inviting.
Overall, it was a great experience. I’d definitely return for drinks and appetizers — they shine there. Looking forward to trying their happy hour at the bar next time.
Side note: Considering the restaurant’s name, I think it’d be a fun and fitting touch to incorporate more lemon-inspired elements throughout the menu — both in dishes and drinks. It would really tie into the theme and brighten up some of the flavors!
Our server forgot basic things—like the lemon in my friend’s drink, which he brought separately about 5 minutes later. My latte arrived cold. My friend’s Caesar salad was underwhelming, and the shrimp she ordered was forgotten and didn’t come out until much later. The hummus was very basic, the “naan” was actually overly fried pita chips that tasted like oil, and the $6 veggie add-on was dry and clearly pre-cut.
We calmly told our waiter we just weren’t impressed with the food and wanted it taken away—no drama, no request for comps. Then the same woman from the beginning came over, without introducing herself or explaining who she was or her role, and became defensive, pushy, and uncomfortable to deal with. When my friend said her salad didn’t taste fresh, she replied, “Well, it is,” and just stared at us. I tried to explain it was personal preference, but she kept pushing and trying to force us to order something else, despite us repeatedly saying “no, thank you.”
At one point, it genuinely felt like we were being harassed. We also felt like we were treated differently based on our appearance—young, well-dressed women—which made the situation even more uncomfortable. The food was comped without us asking, but even after we paid, she came back again trying to push dessert or more food.
Overall, the food, service mistakes, and management behavior made the entire experience feel unprofessional and awkward. I won’t be returning.
We stopped in during happy hour to grab drinks at the bar before dinner, and it was the perfect way to kick off the evening. There were seven of us, and everyone truly enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. Great vibes, great service, and a great menu—we’ll definitely be back!
What truly made the experience unforgettable was our server, Kenny. Kenny was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely made us feel welcomed. His recommendations were perfect, and his service was flawless from start to finish. You can tell he truly cares about providing an exceptional experience.
From the amazing service to the delicious food and vibrant atmosphere, everything was 10/10. Highly recommend Limon Rooftop Bar, and if you’re lucky enough to have Kenny as your server, you’re in for a phenomenal time. We will definitely be back!
The negative would be the food. Brussels sprouts were decent. Meatballs were severely under seasoned. Flatbread came out with melty cheese yet we had several bite that were either room temperature or cold. If returning I would not order food.
Beer was a good pour (can’t remember which my husband got). Raspberry Lemon Tail was decent. Essentially a raspberry lemon drop. It had too much ice which diluted it too far as I sipped on it during dinner. Would be much better if served in a chilled martini glass.
Carlos was pleasant, attentive, and had a great sense of humor without ever being overbearing. His food suggestions were spot-on. We ordered the flatbread and he recommended a crispier crust, which was absolutely the right call and much appreciated. For dessert, he suggested the churros, and they were excellent.
We were seated outside and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. While the restaurant is located on US-41, we happened to be there on an evening when cars were on 5th Avenue, which gave us an unexpectedly great vantage point — both visually and for the atmosphere and sounds. It added to the whole experience.
When we asked about the heater near our table, Carlos immediately took care of it and even brought over an extra heater to make sure we were comfortable. That level of attention really stood out.
It was clearly a team effort as well — we were checked on by food runners, the busser, and the manager, and we never once felt ignored or forgotten.
Great food, great service, and an overall wonderful evening. We’ll definitely be back — and hope Carlos is working when we return.
