Breakfast has gone down hill. Food was not good and sat waiting to come to our table for over 5 minutes. Had to ask the waitress if that was our food and she said yes, she didn’t realize it was sitting there. She proceeded to tell us she wasn’t feeling well and they were trying to get her to go home. The bakery items are good. Expect more from the new ownership.

Staple in the Elmira area. Absolutely best customer service and just overall pleasant people, even when busy. I love that this diner is still around so that my daughter can enjoy it as I did growing up, as well as the bakery! Employees are the kind of people who remember the name’s of regular customers and can turn a new customer into a repeat customer.

I am aware that everyone has been saying that this place is the best.. I’m not saying that it’s horrible. I just don’t care for home fries the size of wedges. I couldn’t eat most of them because they weren’t cooked throughly and because most of them were from a rotten potato. The bacon was extremely well done. I could tell they used a press on it on the grill and it had been cooked ahead of time. The french toast had zero flavor. I just wasn’t impressed. Have a great day

Good prices. The pancakes were great. Waitress and other staff are super friendly. Breakfast prices are decent for what you get. Diner it self is a little out dated but super clean. Plenty of parking all around. They do close kind of early. I would highly recommend and return.

The new owner will destroy what “Lights Bakery” has always successfully been. Lights was a historical landmark in Elmira. We do not need another Italian restaurant/pizzaria in this area! The bakery was superb under the previous owner and they did an excellent business with the restaurant. Why change it? You are making a big mistake!!

Worst experience at a resturant. They gave me the wrong food, took it back and brought it back not cooked fresh. Then charged me for the wrong meal! When asked for my money back they said they’d “write my information down”, and told me they’d call the police because I said I wanted my money. Then the “manager” laughed in my face and said the owners will “get ahold of me.” Also there was bugs all over. Will not be returning.

I used to come here all the time when I was a kid with my family. Half moons and donuts were a huge hit in the household. Then they closed and new owners came in. Though they brought half moons back, they were smaller than usual and as well fairly dry. Maybe it was an off day.

Awesome little diner/bakery! Found it while visiting from out of state. Kind of like going back in time to the 80’s lol The staff was super friendly and the food was awesome! You get a lot for your money. The donuts from the bakery were also super! I highly recommend stopping if you’re in the area.
