Now THAT’S a good buttermilk biscuit. Also very highly recommend the spanish chorizo hash! This place now has my highly coveted stamp of approval for brunch- lucky them!

I had the Pork Belly Bao Bun and it was delicious and not overwhelming! However, the portion is tiny and it’s supposed to be one of the main dishes. The restaurant has a nice and cozy view of the marina.

One of OC’s restaurants recognized by the Michelin Guide. Great location as it sits off Newport harbor. As their name suggests, they have an extensive list of beer on tap but mostly in bottles/cans. Service was excellent and staff was friendly. I would say the highlight was the pork bun. I’m okay with simple but this was an exception as they went all out on it. We also tried their burger and although delicious maybe use that slot for something else. It was fine at best. Overall we had a great time!

Great food in a relaxing atmosphere. I had the chef’s catch. Striped bass. It was perfect. Crispy skin moist and juicy. My wife had the Branzino. Also done to perfection. It’s dog friendly to boot. A great find.

Lido has good food, pricey but mostly delivers in the past, however we were abandoned in service for a “bigger” table this time and it was unacceptable. Things started off ok, the service was engaging but then dissipated when a more important table arrived. The waiter was a fraud. We asked about the croquettes and since we had 6 people if we could have 6. He said they came in 5’s but maybe could add a 6th. The croquettes came in 4. He said the pasta was light and refreshing. But when our patron asked how much was in it because he wanted a filling meal, he changed the tune to say it was hearty and the sauce was filling. It was not, it was in fact light (and that came waaaaaay late as you will see). Our little one asked for a kids pasta with a more flavorful sauce than “butter”, he said the chef had a tomato option he could use and that she would get special sauce…but when delivered it came with just butter and he pretended it was special by squeezing a lemon over it (see its all show to overcompensate for being wrong). At one point he “emphasized” that food is served tapas style, so some items don’t come out at the same time. However they have a CLEAR price point line of apps/tapas and main courses (including their summer special pasta which wasn’t even good in the end!). That’s ok in small doses of course, but 5 of the 6 meals came at the same time. The last dish was 20(!!!) minutes later, which we even had to ask someone else for because our server was engaged with the bigger table for sooo long, so our pasta patron was without a meal while we finished ours…unacceptable in any restaurant tapas or not! The server knew we were one meal short and didn’t delegate anyone to watch over our table as he engaged the bigger group. When he finally arrived to ask about our meal, we complained and he threw that caveat of “tapas style” at us to make an excuse! NO!!!! And then we were never asked for dessert because of infrequent visits after the bigger table arrived, and had to ask a poor hostess girl, who took the brunt of our complaints, for more water and for our check while the server skated for the bigger tip. And in the end? They charged us for a 20% tip on the bill automatically!!! So there you go…they knew the tip was baked in and abandoned us…we were furious. We will not go back, and will adamantly not recommend this to our friends…in fact this was a trip to impress friends and they said they (nor will we) ever go back.

We came in between lunch time and dinner. The kitchen was closes and the waitress that sat us down said she would be back with a snack menu. Thirty minutes later, she didn’t even come back to take the order for our drinks. The bartender had to come and helped us. We still didn’t get the menu for anything food/snacks items. The entire time I saw that the waitress was serving and helping, even having conversations with the table next to us but didn’t bother to spare us a glance. I was really disappointed and wanted to leave but my boyfriend insisted that we stay. I would definitely not come back though.

I really wanted to like this place, as it comes so highly recommended. I’ve recently visited again for dinner after my first experience was less than ideal. While the location is ideal, the food is really nothing special. I’d maybe only come again for a drink, but definitely not for dinner again given there are so many better restaurants around.

Location could not be better; by the water and absolutely beautiful. Came here for brunch and all in all it was a good experience. The service was not the best I’ve had but I’ve also had much worse. The food: presentation was great and the taste was solid. I’d say the chorizo hash was definitely my favorite between the two. I’ve come here for lunch on other occasions and I’ve had a much better experience then.
