I visited Lento for the first time on Saturday night and I will absolutely be back. I saw their post on Instagram about how they were adjusting their prices and portions which got me curious. I went with my partner and friend and we had a great time. Our server was the sweetest and had great dessert recommendations. The whole dining room was cozy, too. We also ate very well. I had the chicken parmesan and linguine with the Pinot noir, and my partner had the pork chop with the WCIPA from Strangebird. Everything was prepared perfectly and we cleaned our plates. For dessert, the three of us split the profiteroles filled with the chocolate sorbet … But I did not share the chocolate pot de creme All in all, our dinner at Lento was phenomenal and I’ll gladly be back.

Lento is consistently my fiancée’s and my favorite restaurant, and I don’t think they get nearly enough recognition for how good they are compared to places in the area like Redd, Good Luck, Nosh, Cure, and others.
This is one of few places in Rochester where it feels like the chef and team have been given creative license to experiment with new dishes consistently, and it works. It’s not easy for a restaurant to have a menu that updates as much as Lento’s to be as consistently good as they are. Both their kitchen and table staff are excellent. We have made it a habit to stop by every couple months to try their latest options.
Some tips and notes from our visits over the last couple years:
– If you like mixed drinks on the sweeter side, try the Lady Marmalade
– Order the bread service. It’s a few bucks for a square of decadent focaccia sized for two. The focaccia has a different blend of ingredients each time we’ve come (I think they switch it up daily?), so it’s fun to see what the nightly variation is.
– Their fish dishes are usually spectacular. This latest time we went I ordered the miso black cod (as someone who usually does not go for cod) and it blew me away. The exception to this rule seems to be the fish fry; for some reason the couple times we’ve ordered it, it’s come out overcooked.
– The “quartino” specials for wine are usually a good blend and come as a glass and a half with a small carafe (I didn’t know what a “quartino” was, in case others are in the same boat)

One of our absolute favorite places to go. The food is always great and the care the chef takes in selecting ingredients is reflected in the delicious food. If you can catch one I would highly recommend attending a good and wine pairing where you have a good chance of discovering a new ingredient, technique or flavor combo.

First time experience here to celebrate my 30th birthday- I’ve heard amazing reviews and so glad I chose Lento!! I had the best time celebrating with family and friends and am absolutely blown away by how accomodating the owner, Art, and amazing team were for us. They handled some unexpected issues with grace, patience, and so much kindness. Jesse and Kate were lovely, welcoming, and attentive. I hope you all see this review and know how appreciated you are. On behalf of my party and I, thank you thank you thank you!!!!!✨️

I had a dock confit, it was very delicious , my partner got the Monk fish and that was also very delicious. Portion sizes very good, if watching your weight too.

My husband and I dined at Lento and we were impressed with the wait staff, food, and atmosphere. My husband had the duck fat fries for an appetizer and said they were perhaps the best fries he’s ever eaten. The octopus salad was delicious and our entrees of salmon and catfish were also excellent. We finished our meal with a chocolate mousse dessert. The most impressive part of our evening was that we were given an entire separate gluten free menu with several appetizer, main dish and drink options which made navigating what we could eat straightforward. We will be back.

Service was wonderful and food was amazing! We brought our own wine and asked our server for the nice big red wine glasses and she brought us 4 no problem. We had oysters, grilled octopus, beet salad, pork chop, monkfish and char…it was all delicious. We finished it off with Pot de crème and cheesecake for the table and it was a great ending to an impeccable meal!

The focaccia bread was soggy with olive oil and it was personally too much to consume. The calamari and the fries are way over salted, it was very difficult finishing the whole plate. The dishes I like best are the oysters and the octopus
