My second time I got lunch to go. I ordered the Steak frites medium and the cook was perfect. If I had time I would’ve stayed to dine in and enjoy but I couldn’t.
service was good, food came in a timely manner and was hot and fresh. liked my drink as well.
4 ⭐️ because the beignets were mushy inside.
i’m back home now and still think about that catfish
After being seated, it took 45 minutes to get the attention of any waiter/waitress to place an order, and another 15 minutes to ask for water for the table. We had to physically go up to what seemed like the floor manager to ask for water. The waiter was extremely rude – one of our party was kindly waving to try to get his attention to order (after 40 minutes of being seated), and he mockingly put his arm up to wave back, then joked with the table he was next to that he had no idea what we wanted, that we were the ones being rude, and that he should “go and see what they want”. It would have been fine if he came over, but he never did.
After placing our order, it was 45 minutes before getting our first dish, and another 15-20 before we got the rest. The crab cakes were really good! The tacos were a bit small but also pretty good. Chicken sandwich was tough and chewy, the shrimp po’boy needed a lot of Tabasco to add flavor. Fries were good, but warm at most.
Overall, we were there for over 2 hours. Disappointed to say the least.
They were out of my first choice so I settled for the vegan burrito. To be frank my burrito was dry and bland. I added hot sauce to it and that made it edible. Mind you my burrito looked… a bit different from what’s normally classified as a burrito, but I try not to place too much emphasis on how things look rather it’s how it tastes.
I chose not to tell the restaurant because one person in our party was already sending her steak back and requested it be taken off the bill, which they did.
Kay was our server and despite the food being a miss for 3 out of 4 of us she made the entire ordeal much better.
The host took five minutes to seat us. We waited fifteen minutes until the server even came around to greet us.
We ordered a bottle of wine, soups all around, and two appetizers to share. After twenty minutes our soups were delivered. (Before the appetizers) The soups were fantastic! We waited another twenty minutes for our first appetizer to appear, which was also good. Unfortunately after sitting there another twenty minutes wondering where our other appetizer was, we waved down the server and cancelled the second appetizer.
She acted surprised that we never received it. She went to the kitchen and was told they had run out of shrimp. The server should have been more aware of our table. How could you not know we hadn’t received our food if that’s your table? She only had three tables.
Overall we were there for an hour and a half and we were only served soups and one appetizer for four people!
Our server was one of the friendliest I’ve ever had; shame the actual service didn’t match that level of warmth.”
“Five stars for the server’s personality, one star for the actual service. Regrettably, we won’t be back.”
