We found deSha’s while just being in the area. First impression upon walking inside: very nice. Warm, inviting, lots of detail that makes you want to stop and admire. We were seated right away (at 6:45 on a Saturday night). Short and sweet cocktail menu, but also a full list of spirits so you know what you can build on your own. Our server was very attentive and charming, checked with us often but not too much. Everything felt a little rushed, but this was not overly bothersome. While walking around, I found a cool cocktail lounge area called the horse and barrel that is separate from the main restaurant. They do cigar nights on the patio on Mondays. Here are my overall ratings and reasons:
Atmosphere and vibe: 5/5. Very cool place, lots of decor and architecture. Live music when we were there added a great ambience.
Cleanliness: 5/5. No issues here, restroom was perfect.
Food: 3/5. So I would give the appetizers/soup a 5/5. We got the andoullie sausage spring rolls and French onion soup. Both great, no complaints. The main course, though, left some things to be desired. Wife ordered the farmhouse salad with crab cake. Salad was ok, but the crab cake was cold because it was only seared in one side. I ordered the specialty burger. Flavor was good, but way too much sauce that made the bottom bun soggy. Too many toppings that fell off with every bite. And the slice of cheese had that cheap-waxy look and taste. I’m only giving the main course 2/5, which makes the overall ratings a 3/5.
Drinks: 5/5. Gin and tonic was excellent. Can’t wait to try the lounge part.
Would you return? Definitely, but we would come for appetizers and drinks only.

Not terrible but nothing to write home about. Waitress was curt and unfriendly especially for valentines weekend. The menu was small but I did enjoy my meal. I got the chicken pasta, though it only had 2 pieces of broccoli and the house salad. I asked for the dressing on the side but they did not listen. My bf got the burger and fries and it was a smidgen above room temp and would not recommend. We skipped dessert. Not worth the price but the atmosphere is nice.

A solid 4 for our trip to DeShay’s. Lovely setting, good service, and the food was decent as well. Love the cornbread in place of traditional bread or rolls, and the Caesar salad was good too. I had a cup of onion soup which I haven’t had for years and it brought back fond memories. My wife had the pot roast which she said was good, but I think it needed a bit more broth to tie it all together. I ordered the blackened grouper over pasta and a Gorgonzola cream sauce. The grouper was heavily seasoned on one side and cooked perfectly. I could have eaten two of them. The cream sauce was a bit watery and definitely had a Gorgonzola taste to it – a bit too much for me but it lived up to its billing. Overall not bad and worthy of subsequent visits, especially so we can try the bacon fat popcorn with a cold beer!

Loved this restaurant. Had lunch there while in the area. It was a treat. We were seated by the windows that overlook the water. The staff was friendly and professional. Our meal was delicious and even now a few weeeks later I remember what a nice place this was.

Large American tavern, rarely disappoints. Good burgers, fish and chips and hot sandwiches and salads. Service is good and even when busy don’t feel like it takes long to prepare meals. Good selection of drinks although cocktail selection a bit underwhelming and Guinness not quite as it should be. Everyone loves the cornbread! Today we enjoyed burgers, beer battered fish and chips and classic chicken sandwich.

Well this is my first and last time eating here. We had a team lunch yesterday and everyone was excited to eat, me included. I got the Smoked Gouda and Chicken Pasta. Took a few bites and noticed there was a hair in my food. I kinda shrugged it off and know it can happen. Then I pull out another. And another. My coworker sitting next to me is mortified. I proceeded to pick out 5 scraggly hairs from my meal. I’m hoping to god it was beard hair; while still gross, I’d hate to think it came from somewhere else because it’s not head hair… my poor managers felt so bad and had to DoorDash from a completely different restaurant for me. Idk how many hairs I ate. Absolutely disgusting.

Just…wow. Great people, awesome food, excellent drink selection.
I went here for lunch on a weekday and cannot emphasize how wonderful the people at the atmosphere was. Everyone was kind and knowledgeable. I ordered the Chef Salad and it did not disappoint. The lettuce was fresh, the toppings well-balanced, and the presentation phenomenal. I also had a few beers (Blue Moons), which were crisp and effervescent.
Thank you guys!

We like the quality of food, though it is often not up to temperature (especially the sides). There is usually something missing, once it was no crayons for kids because the chef was going out of town and didn’t order them…the last time it was salt and the server told us they had taken them all to the back to refill…once they were out of a dish completely…just odd things for a place that is supposed to be on the nicer end. The location is convenient though and we enjoy sitting on the patio when the weather allows.

I was there last night with a group of 13. Our reservation was at 6:30. The waitress took our drink orders quickly but then it was a long time before our orders were placed. We finally were served at 9:15!! Apologies were made and the manager gave us a round of drinks on the house. But that didn’t help the food. My southern fried chicken was dry and ice cold. I asked for sweet potato fries and they were cold.
I didn’t want the mashed potatoes but got them anyway. And guess what? That was cold. They were a solid mass of potatoes. If I wanted to eat them I would need a knife and fork.
The excuse was that there were 3 parties going on and a full house. Didn’t you know that these parties were booked and the reservation list was full? It’s the holidays, didn’t you expect this? Why didn’t you increase your employee ranks? It’s not the dinners fault that you are busy. You are the restaurant, this should not be a problem. We will not be back.
