Le Pain Quotidien

We’re a Belgian bakery and restaurant serving simple, wholesome and seasonal food. Le Pain Quotidien means “the daily bread” in French, and like our name suggests, we’re bakers at heart. Although our handmade, organic bread is how we got our start, we serve a variety of healthy options like organic coffee, pastries, eggs, tartines, soups, salads and desserts. At Le Pain Quotidien, we believe that food should be simple, nourishing and delicious. That’s why we source ingredients that are local or organic whenever possible. We also believe in the importance of eating a healthy, plant-based diet, so you’ll find many vegetarian or vegan options on our menu.

Great breakfast options, we had avocado toast, eggs skillet, yogurt bowl and fruits. Everything was tasty and good portion sizes. Service was okay but nothing much

We arrived close to when they opened and could tell they weren’t quite ready for actual customers. The food was ok (quiche Lorraine was salty, croissant was heavy rather than light and flaky). The service needed to have some coffee. And the Americano tasted like water. There are other places nearby that are better for the money. You could tell that they knew the regulars though which is nice to see.

Why offer sit down if you can’t service it? Came for breakfast as a group of 4 – they tell us to sit down anywhere we want. We sit and… wait, and wait and wait for a menu. We come inside double checking if there is table service or if we should order from the counter (which we’re totally ok doing). We’re assured they will come by. Once they finally do, everything takes forever. We wait to place and order, our food takes forever to come out (got a yogurt parfait, and avocado toast and 2 of the farro egg breakfast bowls). Our coffee somehow comes after our food and they only have skim milk or almond milk for the coffee. The food was ok – no complaints, but not stellar either. Breakfast at this “fast casual” breakfast bakery somehow took 1.5 hours. The worst part is, I felt bad for the servers – the management really did them a disservice. Mental note for next time – I’d you see a bunch of tables that have not been cleared off even if it’s obvious that the previous customers left a while ago – the service staff is probably massively underwater.

We stopped by for an afternoon coffee and dessert to celebrate National Dessert Day. The iced latte was good and my husband had the lemonade tea.

Good place to grab a coffee or a pastry treat. They do have wonderful indoor and outdoor dining. The place is clean and it’s not too busy. This is steps away from the WTC and Brookfield place. It’s right in front of a taxi stop so getting here via taxi is very easy! Check this place out!

Very good food and reasonable prices! Everyone was very attentive and professional. There was no wait time on a Saturday about noon. My boys and I all had pancakes with bananas and bacon. It was excellent! I would definitely go back, you won’t be disappointed.

Stopped in for a sandwich and some soup on a cold December day. We could not have had a more pleasant experience. The server was very friendly and attentive. The service was quick, and the food was very good. The chicken soup and the open faced turkey and avocado sandwich hit the spot. The sandwich had a light flavor and the thinly sliced cucumbers and radish topped it off. We added a couple espresso and this was the perfect winter afternoon stop.

Terrible service. Waited 30 mins for a coffee. Had to ask for water (which was tap warm no ice) ordered egg in a skillet and it when it finally arrived it was cold and rubbery. I sent it back. After our coffee I asked for our bill and was left waiting another 30 minutes as the server avoided us. Clearly hoping we would just leave. He brought me the POS machine to pay which just shows the total owing. Not itemized. I wanted to see if I was charged for the meal I declined. We finally got up and tracked him down and he gave us the receipt. Yupppp….charged for the breakfast we declined which helped his tip. Had to ask for a manager to have it removed. The waiter at the counter that helped us with our waiters error (scam) was extremely nice and accommodating…wish we would have had him from the start.
