My husband and I ate here while visiting Quebec and it was fabulous! The food was delicious and our servers were extremely helpful and friendly. We especially enjoyed the fried oysters with the buffalo sauce. I had the Catch of the Day and my husband had the smoked and seared pork loin. Both were excellent. For dessert, we had the date cake with the caramel sauce. The caramel sauce was to die for!!! We’d highly recommend this restaurant and we will eat here again when we visit Quebec.

Le Hobbit is a one-Michelin-star restaurant (2025) conveniently located, which is why I decided to try it for dinner. I ordered two appetizers and two main courses, and overall the flavors were well balanced and very enjoyable.
The foie gras terrine with brioche, sunflower seed butter, and blueberry–lavender jam was interesting and unique. I especially loved the lavender jam, but at $14.50 for two small slices of bread, it felt overpriced and not particularly worth it.
The second appetizer, fried oysters in a homemade buffalo-style sauce with dill pickles, blue cheese and yogurt espuma, and fresh cucumber, was visually appealing and offered an unusual yet refreshing combination of flavors, though the oysters themselves were on the smaller side.
For mains, the seared catch of the day with butternut squash was excellent. Every element on the plate worked beautifully together—the fish was fresh and not fishy at all, the squash sauce was rich and comforting, and the crispy fried onions added a very satisfying texture.
The highlight of the evening was the seared duck breast. The presentation was elegant and the flavors were great; the only minor downside was that the duck was slightly chewier than expected.
Overall, Le Hobbit is definitely worth trying when visiting Quebec City. I highly recommend both their dinner and breakfast menus.

I went there to try their brunch. I think the food was okay; it was definitively very creative and well presented but maybe not for me. It somehow started feeling heavy after a few bites. Overall, it is a great place staff are very friendly and nice, the place is cute.

Phenomenal food with a great focus on seafood and creative dishes. Started with their panegroni, probably the best negroni riff I’ve ever had. I then had the fried oysters in buffalo sauce and blue cheese cream to start, followed by the fish of the day; walleye, in a sea urchin crème. Outstanding service, strongly recommend.

I came across this as a recommended restaurant on the Michelin guide and it definitely is deserving of the recommendation.
Its a beautiful restaurant on the inside and the food is fantastic. We went for brunch and it is definitely one of the best brunch that Ive had.
We had the Chicken and Waffles and the Croc Monsieur and both were great.
We also came with our three month old and everyone was very nice and accommodating. There is parking in a lot around the corner just across the street which is convenient as well.
Overall Id highly recommend and Id happily go back and order the same dishes again.

My wife and I visited on our honeymoon. The place was charming, with gorgeous art on the walls that welcomes you in. The staff were very helpful and provided great recommendations which resulted in a very memorable brunch experience. Our server was fun and playful, but in a professional and courteous way. The food was beautiful, creative, and most importantly, delicious. I had the confit squash with a poached egg while my wife had the eggs Benedict with a carrot purre. We had deviled eggs on the side as well. They display their Michelin recommendation proudly and they should. I would advise anyone looking for a cute brunch date spot to stop in.

Excellent Quebecois cuisine with excellent value. Lots of classic dishes, but with inventive and well-executed riffs, using quality local ingredients. Their blood pudding apparently won awards, and I can see why – it was divine and I highly recommend it. Its name is makes it sound strange and intimidating but it truly is approachable for a general audience. The gravlax was another highlight, as well as the truffle mayo potato side dish. You cannot fault Le Hobbit on anything, they are genuinely and humbly a wonderful place to dine.
