I’ve been here several times and usually order the Brooklyn pastrami sandwich. In the past it’s been great — easily one of my go-to orders. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was such a disappointment that I feel compelled to share.
The sandwich I received this time was almost entirely gristly fat, with barely any of the flavorful pastrami I’ve come to expect. It was inedible. When I politely brought it to the owner’s attention, I was told that “the quality of the meat is based on what they’re able to receive.” I understand supply issues can happen, but if the product is that poor, it simply shouldn’t be served.
Consistency and quality control are key, especially for something that’s normally such a standout item. I left really disappointed, and it’s made me hesitant to return despite my previous good experiences here.

Such a hidden treasure in Boulder. The sandwich I ordered was perfection. I am not a prosciutto fan so I got what was a caprese sandwich instead. Everything was fresh, the price was great, and I love finding locally owned places like this that you can’t find anywere else. Incredible cheese selection and bought lots of goodies to take back to Texas with me. I’ll be back!

The sandwiches are amazing here! We have been coming here for years and recommend it regularly to friends/family. The service is slow but mostly because they are making so many sandwiches. They have a great cheese/meat freezer in the back and a lot of imported French and Italian goods. You won’t be disappointed!

@lefrigoboulder is easily one of the best sandwich places in Boulder. It’s a cute shop with a lot of good products. There’s a cheese room, frozen sausages and meats, and a chilled case with prosciutto and other charcuterie.
This is the Italian with prosciutto, mozzarella, basil, tomatoes with a balsamic glaze, all in an amazing baguette. The other sandwich was from a previous trip at the end of summer with amazing peaches on a pretzel bun.

Absolutely fantastic sandwiches. The Le Frigo is so simple and fantastic. I did it with a pretzel bun, but the baguette is pretty darn awesome too. Also the Catalon was phenomenal. We actually took a bite and then went back and bought another one because it was so damn good.
In addition, they have an absolutely fantastic selection of cheese and provisions from all over the world.
Go go go. This place rocks.

stop in for classic European sandwiches right here in Boulder. this reminds me of traveling in Alsace, with little hints of Germany, France and Switzerland. by far, the best thing happening here was the laugenbrot. the sandwiches we had were both served on it. This took me back to bites at the train station and was a welcome memory. That said the flavors were a bit bland for an American pallette, prices were quite high relative to what you would pay in Europe, and the service was more akin to European in tone. The shop had plenty of amazing things to bring home and make your European moments authentic. one should expect to pay a bit more for this in the middle of the US, and of course, the Boulder tax. I look forward to returning and updating my reviews over time.

I’ve been a loyal customer for years and have generally always enjoyed the food here. However, my recent visit was disappointing enough that I’m reconsidering coming back.
I ordered the Brexit sandwich ($17 total: $12.99 + $4 upcharge for gluten free bread). For that price, I expected a sandwich. What I got had only three thin slices of roast beef that barely formed one layer, an equally thin single layer of cheese, some arugula, and a spread. While the $4 gluten free baguette itself is good quality, it’s oversized, especially for the amount of filling provided. I essentially paid a premium price for bread with so little on it, the only thing one could taste was the spread, and just barely.
They are out of their minds and I am probably not returning.

Best French/Euro sandwiches I’ve had in the US. Their bread was so good. Amazing cheese cave, snacks, sausages, cured meats, etc. Their “hot dog” rolls had real sausages wrapped in pretzel bread.

We get French ‘hoagies’ to go here regularly. They are delicious. We recommend Le Frigo highly.

Stopped in here and grabbed a “Le Frigo Royal” sandwich to go. While I was waiting for the sandwich, I checked out the dizzying array of imported fine foods, meats, and cheeses. Had I not been in a hurry, I could have spent an hour or more just examining all of the various foods, and I would surely have spent a fair bit of money since so many items looked so good or reminded me of living in Europe. My sandwich was ready in about 5 mins, however, and I had to go. Topped with prosciutto, sausage, cornichons, and with a heavy layer of butter on the bread, it was soooo good and as authentic to my favorite Parisian sandwiches as I’ve had outside of France. I’ll be back very soon to do some shopping and grab another sandwich!
