Amazing food and attentive service. I ordered the haddock combo, which included one fish fillet, a generous portion of chips, tartar sauce, and mushy peas.
While the quality was excellent, the single fish fillet was not quite enough for an adult portion. I ended up ordering an additional fish fillet, which unfortunately did not come with tartar sauce. In total, the meal cost $45, which felt expensive for one person.
Overall, the food was very good, but I would prefer a more substantial fish portion and tartar sauce included with additional fish in the combo

You won’t find better fish n chips than right here! Exceptional quality, delivery, staff and atmosphere. The restaurant was full of regulars and first timers (like us) who were clearly excited to have finally made it here. Not to mention, gluten free beer and fish for the miss’s, done right and crispy. The chips were fresh, homemade and fantastic. Mushy peas were delicious. Tartar perfect. The right vinegars on every table. If you haven’t gone yet, you’re missing out!

What a great little spot!
I had been really excited to check out Lawson’s and finally went.
I had the 2 piece cod and couldn’t finish it I was so full. It was almost as enjoyable a couple days later after reheating it in my air fryer. I rarely enjoy reheated fish but this was so good!
My fiancé had the gluten free halibut and loved hers as well.
The staff is very welcoming and attentive.
The atmosphere takes you away to London proper ❤️

Sweet lord you’ve managed to impress my Newfie buddy. Best fish and chips north of home he says. Definitely the best in Alberta. This is a double portion so there was definitely leftovers. He even made a point of speaking to the owners as he had years in his eyes!

This was such a good find! The food was absolutely delicious. The portions were amazing and the atmosphere was great. The chippy shop vibe at the front of the store was spot on! Currently the restaurant has about maybe 10 sit-in booths but I definitely think they will be needing a lot more in the near future! We have been speaking about our meal (we got the Megalodon meal..which was definitely enough for 2) ever since we went there and it’s been 5 days!
Anyways, i can’t say enough about how good everything was! So good!

Following The Bear’s recommendation, we dined at this restaurant and found it to be well worth the visit. The fish and chips, onion rings, and classic British sticky pudding were truly exceptional. The crunchy batter and flavorful fish were particularly noteworthy. Additionally, the ambiance and decor of the restaurant were highly appealing.

This place is amazing but one down fall is the weird hours highly recommend checking their hours before driving here. With that being said the service is very good top notch service fast and friendly. You better not be in a hurry as they are a very busy restaurant but so worth the wait. I truly enjoyed the the Haddock Reg fish n chips. And the homemade onions… Although wish they came in a smaller size couldn’t finish them. The coleslaw is a vinaigrette style was so hoping for. Creamy Slaw… Mmm. But all in all this place is great the atmosphere is cool with tons of different things to look at. And it continues into the washrooms too…
I highly recommend this place if your a fish n chips connoisseur like myself.

I had to check out the hype while visiting Edmonton, and as a fish and chips connoisseur, I was pleasantly surprised. Lawson Fish and Chips delivers the quality and taste you’d expect from a proper shop back in the UK.
I ordered the light portion, which was just right. The chips were spot on, crispy on the outside with that soft pillow texture inside, not burnt or thin like fries. The haddock was a proper size, piping hot, thick and flaky, and not paper-thin like many others serve. Even the gravy had the perfect consistency and flavour, just like in England.
If I had to critique one thing, it would be that I wish the fish batter was a little more crispy. But overall, this is hands down one of the best fish and chips spots I’ve had in Canada (outside Toronto and Newfoundland). Highly recommend.

After moving to Canada on August 12th, 2024, there are many things I miss from back home in the UK.
Now, I’ll be honest. I wasn’t exactly a regular fish and chip shop person in Wigan. But let me tell you this, when the option is completely taken away, it suddenly becomes a personality trait.
Living where I do in Canada, not having a proper chippy nearby has always been hard. The odd chippy tea has been missed massively. Emotionally. Spiritually. Practically.
So while staying in Edmonton, Alberta, I stumbled across Lawsons Fish & Chips and honestly, I nearly needed a moment.
The food is so close to how it should be, the staff are lovely and friendly, and for a brief second I forgot what continent I was on. Then came the mushy peas, followed by salt and vinegar.
Reader, I almost cried.
I didn’t.
But my heart did a little nod and said, “This’ll do nicely.”

Ordered the Classic Haddock double fish and a side of onion rings. The price was $33 plus $8 for the onion rings. The fish was good quality. It was meaty and thick, probably because they charge $33 for 2 pieces of fish. The tartar sauce is home made and tastes good.
