Recommend: Brazilian curry fish, Dominican chicken stew, pernil, empanadas, maduros, fried yucca
Good: tamales, chicken tinga, birria, beef stew, bread pudding

Seceral of the items were spectacular. We were really impressed by the fish curry with the mild coconut taste and very tender fish.

The dominican chicken stew was also amazingly tender without getting the overcooked texture sometimes chicken can get.

The tamales, chicken tinga, and birria had nice flavor but were a little on the dry side.

The beef stew is a perfectly fine beef stew but I couldn’t really tell what made it different than an American beef stew.

Absolutely phenomenal service and food! Everyone is such great workers and so kind and helpful and always make sure you have a good visit! The food is out of this world. It is so good! It tastes very genuine and reminds me of my home dinners growing up. I absolutely love this place and I can’t wait to see it grow and hopefully open more locations to spread the great flavor and experience!! Everyone is very warm and welcoming; and every single time I have come, I’ve always had the most pleasant experience possible!

This is Where Island Soul Meets Culinary Art.

From the moment you arrive, it’s clear this establishment is something special – a masterful fusion of Caribbean delicacies that celebrates the region’s vibrant culinary heritage. Every element, from the carefully sourced ingredients to the artfully crafted beverages, draws inspiration from the finest corners of the Caribbean.

The menu is a true showcase of flavor. The fish, steak, and chicken dishes are each prepared to perfection, bursting with rich, layered notes that reflect the authenticity of island cuisine. Even the coffee stands out – the Cuban brew, in particular, is exceptional and speaks to the restaurant’s dedication to quality and

cultural detail.

Equally impressive is the service. The staff exude warmth and enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere that’s both welcoming and full of life. With its outstanding food, inviting energy, and excellent value, this spot stands out as a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a genuine Caribbean fusion experience.

I had a great experience at Latin Port. The service was excellent—the staff was warm, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The restaurant itself is spotless, well-maintained, and has a very inviting atmosphere. With plenty of space and comfortable seating, it never feels crowded, which makes lunch here even more enjoyable.

What really stands out is the unique concept that sets Latin Port apart from other restaurants in the area. It combines a modern, spacious layout with an authentic touch, creating a dining experience that feels both fresh and distinctive. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re looking for great service, a welcoming environment, and something different from the usual.

I was really excited to try Latin Port in Metuchen after seeing it all over social media. Even though it was raining when I arrived, the place had a cool Latin vibe with a nice mix of foods from different countries.

The prices were a bit on the expensive side — our two dishes plus a ginger ale and a homemade iced tea lemonade came out to about $50. The food had a lot of flavor, but maybe it was the combination of different seasonings because it didn’t sit too well with my stomach afterward.

That said, I’m willing to give it another try because the atmosphere was great and the menu has a lot of options. I’ll definitely go back to try a different meal.

This place is absolutely INSANE value for money. The food tastes so good. The quality was like eating at a restaurant with $50-$60 entries but it only costs like $15 for a great meal.

I’m shocked. Hands down one of the best finds in Metuchen.

Edit: I came back on 3-5. It’s even better than I expected. Sticking to my 5 stars but I wish there was 6.

I got the flan this time and damn… I’m in heaven I love this place so much.

Delicious food and great meal deals. The chicken pupusas are to die for. Also the brown sugar lemonade is fantastic.

Ordered ribs and chicken stew with beans. Only received 3 ribs with very little meat on it, a very small container with chicken stew that was not flavorful, and a very small cup of beans (a paper coffee cup is bigger). Beans were good, ribs were just okay. Portions are NOT generous – and this was $20. I’m sure they’re doing well in Metuchen without much competition but for a Hispanic restaurant, this place lacks a lot of flavor.
