This place is pretty good. The service, and food were excellent. The dining area is very clean and spacious. The bathrooms are very clean. If you are a fan of Cuban food, this place is pretty authentic. It is the closest you’ll get to Miami without having to drive there.

Don’t know what happened, today my wife ordered milanesa steak, it was over cooked I ordered the pork chunks they were a little over to and lack of taste. The beans was lack of taste too. Complete opposite of the last time we were here.

One of the very few noteworthy eateries in Ocala!
My family and I go to this place on a weekly basis. Food is flavorful and appetizing. When you use quality ingredients you can literally taste the difference. We have tried different entrees here and so far not one has disappointed us.
As far as service is concerned, it has always been great; even when they are busy. The servers walking around with a smile and ready to help. Our servers are always excellent; very attentive, with a positive, and friendly attitude every time we have been here.
It is truly sad that all the restaurants where I have received poor service and encountered servers with zero people-skills and negative attitudes are mostly American restaurants. Truth hurts! I know!
But this review is for Latin American Cafe, so, to sum it up, it is an excellent place to bring your friends and family, have great conversations, and enjoy food that will convince you to come back.

Latin American Cafe is a solid go-to for authentic Cuban food without any fuss. The menu is packed with classic comfort dishes—ropa vieja, lechón, arroz con frijoles, and pressed Cuban sandwiches that come out hot and flavorful. Portions are generous for the price, everything tastes homemade, and the seasoning is spot-on. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, more about the food than the decor, which honestly works in its favor. Service is quick and friendly, making it an easy lunch or dinner spot when you want something filling, affordable, and genuinely Latin. Definitely one of those places locals keep in rotation.

I went it was just after lunch. Disappointed that none of the specials were available. And other items weren’t available on the day I came so. I didn’t stay. I paid for my drink and some appetizers which were great. They make the best croquettes hot steamy hammy and delicious, but not a whole lot to report this run.

The minute you enter, the smell reminds me of my mother in law’s kitchen. We were quickly seated even though they had a busy lunch crowd.
Our server took our order shortly after and our drinks and food were ready in less than 15 minutes.
We ordered one of the lunch specials and hubby ordered the breaded chicken breast/ pechuga empanizado. It came with rice and beans and an option of tostones, platano maduro.
All the flavors were very authentic. The seasonings were on point and hit the spot. Every bite we savored. So glad we asked our kayak rental guy for the recommendation, otherwise we would have missed this spot. Did not have a high expectation for real Cuba food this far north from Miami.
We finished our meal with a cortadito and colada for that complete Cuban experience.
If you miss the taste of a home cooked meal, this was a win for us.
We always ask the locals for suggestions when we travel and most of the time, those suggestions give us an otherwise bland choice to a delicious gastro journey. Our travels include these highlights as they make the trip more memorable.
This was less than 15 minutes away from Silver Springs State Park so after the kayaking and hiking it was a quick drive to fill the belly.
Most of their daily specials are at $12.50 while other meals and sandwiches start at $10.
