I came from the West Coast and I have been desperate for some good Mexican food for some time. Las potrancas, or the “pink truck” as some locals knew it, is my oasis in the Midwest.
I used to go to their food truck embarrassingly often. I would drive literally an hour after work, hoping, begging, wishing that las potrancas was in the parking lot in Fairmont and would genuinely be devastated if they weren’t.
I’m so, so, so happy they opened a restaurant. If I haven’t moved 1000 miles away, I might have gained 30 lbs from being near the vicinity. I’m genuinely thinking about flying back just to have their food again. Their carne asada is fantastic. Their birria is amazing. You just can’t go wrong with any of these choices.
Their food will not disappoint. It is the best Mexican food in the Midwest – guaranteed. It’s the closest you will find. Good prices, amazing portions, great people. What more do you need??
