This location always has friendly employees and consistently good food. I judge a Del Taco on their fries, and they were crispy and nicely salted. I’ve been to others where the fries were oily and soggy. This location has always had perfect fries.
I’ve been here at assorted times and the restaurant is always clean and tables wiped down. I haven’t mentioned the food you go there for yet…I’ve had everything from Epic burritos to regular tacos and they’ve been consistently good.

My daughter and I were there 8 minutes before closing, sitting at the drive-thru waiting to place our order but we’re ignored. We drove around the drive-thru to the window to see a guy standing there I told him that we were there 8 minutes before closing and he wouldn’t open the window and just kept saying we’re closed we’re closed we’re closed last time you said it you just walked away. I’ll spread the word that this place ain’t the place to go for last minute munchies!

OMG this is a really great Del Taco location! I work locally and stopped in on my lunch for a quick bite to eat. The service was great and I love how they call your order by name and not a stupid number. The food was super fresh and you could verify this by actually seeing all the vegetables and fruit behind the counter. I have to admit that it’s pretty refreshing to see what would usually be hidden or out of view to customers. Try finding that at any McDonalds or even most good Taco Shops here in Southern California. This location had a salsa bar that was a great touch and I enjoyed knowing I wasn’t using a bunch of one time use plastic packets that are horrible for the environment. Did I mention the restaurant was very clean and obviously well kept.

Ordered 4 of the burger meals and I’ve never had everything burnt. The bread was burnt the meat was burnt there was no sauce and it was terribly dry. The fries were burnt and two of the sodas were incorrect. I spoke to the manager Marco he said I could come back for a full refund and when I get here they say they’re not refunding me according to his manager Liz?
After this wonderful experience, I drop my son off at school/UCSD and he wound up in the urgent care with food poisoning!!
I did not receive one apology from Liz nor Marco.

All clowns at this circus. Hey boss, thanks boss, just wait a minute boss. Same food, horrible service. Ask for mild sauce, get a bag full of inferno(again). I wait for food so it can sit and get cold.

Del taco. San Marcos, CA… hire some employees! But also make sure they are adults or act like it. Talking about the late night drive thru. It’s awful!! 3 cars took 45 minutes to get thru and the employee tells us he has to do the window and make the food! I don’t think the daytime shift has these issues but the night shift is not good.
Update: 5/14/22…. went at 10:30pm and got to the drive thru and no lights on the board but we could see it. Says they are open till midnight. No one took our order and we Waited and drove to the window and they clearly were open but we could not see the staff in there which was a little concerning. So we drove to the back of the building to leave and there were 2 employees outside just shooting the breeze.. We asked them if there was someone inside to take our order And they said that they would take our order in 10 minutes when the 2 of them got off of break. This is crazy because they are open but they’re going to make us wait 10 minutes till they get back from break. I asked them why they don’t stagger their brakes and that this is not good business for them and they didn’t care and just laughed. No customer service and definitely no service at all
10/8/22… wow, entered the drive thru 20 minutes ago and still waiting for food. At window and paid but waiting for change of$ .71. One guy in the place taking orders, taking money and making food!! 10 minutes at the window (my husband watched the timer for the driver thru) in addition to the 20 minutes in drive thru. Only 3 cars in drive thru. When we left there was a line of cars 8 deep, they’ll be there for hours. Always takes long here but this is ridiculous!! Get it together Del Taco. We’ll go somewhere else next time. My one chicken taco had chicken but nothing else basically and that’s not what they advertise or show. Sad

Tried their fish tacos. Not to bad. Was full after just having 2, they are just shy over street taco size, the fish is battered and fried. They come with cabbage and salsa on top with a corn tortilla. They have always been so polite there, which is a huge plus for me. Using proper Grammer when speaking to customers.

They gave out cold fries, I came back when I could which was 30 minutes later and I was hassled for that. The so-called manager there was absolutely terrible and argument me down as he gave me a refund. This is a fast food establishment hot fries should be given. The only reason why I put two stars instead of one is because I got two crispy tacos, which were good. Those were only fresh because they told me to go out and park in the front and wait an extended time for the tacos.
