Reviews
Let’s start from the moment we walked into the restaurant, the atmosphere was extremely uncomfortable. The place was oddly quiet and it seemed like no one was enjoying themselves. So many couples weren’t talking to each other or even smiling. Our server was very sweet though. She was very attentive and kind. Probably the only good thing about our dinner that night.
We ordered their specialty cocktails, the bourbon one was great, however the other one tasted like a cheap drink I’ve had in college. Our French onion soup was extremely salty, nearly ruining the flavor. My prime rib was the worst steak I’ve ever had. I ordered it medium and it came to me only with a hint of pink. There was no flavor to it AT ALL and the entire thing was difficult to chew. I ate what I could because I was hungry. I can’t believe they’d serve that for that price. The chef has to know that this was not a quality piece of meat.
My husband’s NY strip was decent though. Thankfully he shared a few bites of that with me.
The worst part… we wanted to have some Riesling with our dinner. The server opened it all fancy and such, only to take a sip and realize this was nothing like the Riesling were normally enjoy. It was tart and sour. It wasn’t very sweet like we’d expected with a Riesling at all. We googled the cost of this bottle and realized it could be purchased for $7.97! The restaurant charged us $38 for this!!!!
Needless to say, we didn’t finish our meal, our cocktails or the full bottle of wine we were forced to purchase because just a glass wasn’t an option. We decided that since everything we ordered was a disappointment, we’d pass on dessert which is usually our favorite part of going out to eat.
One and done for us…
Having said that, the service was marginal. We had to wait a very long time for our food to come out. Tables sat after us were served, ate, paid their bills and left before we even got our food. After the long wait, the waitress came out and said they had overcooked my steak so they had to start over. I give them credit of remaking it rather than serving it. However, we had to wait an additional 40 min. for the new steak to be finished and our meal to be served. Our redo on the steak should’ve been priority and I know it doesn’t take that long to cook. The waitress made a big deal that she would give us half off on the cocktail I was drinking. Hmmm, as long as we waited the entree should have been free (we have family in the business and that would’ve been the norm). The next morning at breakfast the waitress made a joke about breakfast not taking as long as our evening meal, but did remind us we got half off ONE of the cocktails. Great food, poor customer service.
