First time trying Indian food. We drove 40 miles to come here. The staff were all very courteous and attentive. The dining room was very clean. The food was hot and fresh. We highly reccomend eating here.

We often get takeout because the portion sizes are great and always love the leftovers. The Paneer Tikka Masala is perfect, but the chicken biriyanis have very little meat.

This is a review by someone who drove nearly 2.5 hours to try their food. Best Sunday buffet in the Midwest! We are foodies and we got sick of the Indian/Nepalese buffets in the neighborhood, where the taste of every dish (or “curry” as they call it) is nearly the same – served with loads of whipping cream in all of them. Lal Qila really stands out because of the wide range of meat and chicken dishes. The mutton/ goat is so tender and savory. We loved the puris. The taste still lingers in my mouth and my mouth starts watering even thinking about their food. This place has my loyal business for lifetime.

My husband and I came here for the buffet. We like going to Pakistani vs. India buffets as the India buffets are more vegetarian and usually only offer one or two meat dishes and it’s always just biryani or tandoori. This place is super reasonable considering all the meat dishes they offer! This place was above and beyond our expectations! They offered so many chicken and had fresh goat dishes! They had chicken biryani, Haleem, tandoori, korma, and kabobs! Goat Korma and Piye! I love that they mixed spinach and saag (greens) in the Pollack Paneer giving it a very nice rich taste. The chicken kabobs were cooked in the tandoor (clay oven) and were super moist, soft and delicious. They were the best I’ve tasted since leaving Lahore many years ago! Nothing was a bit oily or salty and everything tasted different with its very own flavors! They even had Puri Halwa too! The puris came out piping hot and the naan breads were hot, nice and fluffy! The yoghurt (raita) and cilantro (dunya) chutneys were as fresh as could be! They had chai tea self service so you could have a few cups with buffet and more after. The desserts did not disappoint either as the kheer was nice and creamy and the gulab jamuns were warm and you could tell they used real ghee to make them tasty and not too sweet. If you want a genuine Pakistani buffet, this is the place! Very clean and I like that they have a stack of extra large napkins already on the table for you. The napkins are good ones that stay together vs. falling apart after a couple wipes! They also serve you bottled water vs. a pitcher of water and glasses! They have the whole system down here. Very clean bathrooms and surroundings. There were so many choices, we didn’t get to try everything. Exceptional quality all the way around. After living 25 years in Chicago going to Devon St. (famous Pak-Indo Street) and traveling the country, I can honestly say this is THE best Pak/Indo food buffet! The chef is very friendly and you can tell he enjoys cooking the food with love. If I could give 10 stars I would! When in St Louis, we will be here every time! Can’t wait to go back and try the chefs Chapli Kabobs off the menu! Yum!!!

This is a nice place for authentic Indian and Pakistani cuisine. We went there for the Sunday buffet lunch. There were several dishes like naan, chole bhature, rice, aloo sabji, muttan Paya, chicken biryani, tandoori chicken, chicken kabab, chicken tikka masala, kadai chicken along with desserts like gulab jamun, kheer, sooji ka halwa plus salad & pickles. Overall experience was awesome. Must visit when in St. Louis.

Very poor customer service, arrogant owner. We bought an order for carry out which included Nihari, Haleem, Nans and Kabab he missed Nihari in the order, I called them and he said come and pick up Nihari or come and get a refund. I told him that kababs are burnt (see picture) and sent him the picture. He said bring the kababs back and get a refund. Haleem had so much salt the it was not eatable.

We were introduced to Lal Qila on Door Dash. We are so glad to find affordable Indian Pakistani food near by. We like the butter chicken, palak paneer, and the samosa chaat. We are looking forward to discovering more new favorites from the menu.
