We ordered a couple of tacos, the chicken mole and a chicken tamale. Everything had its own distinctive flavor- tasted fresh and had that home cooked vibe. The service was quick. The vibe was authentic Mexican. All in all a great family run place ! Highly recommend.

Very friendly and prompt service. Food is excellent, authentic and tasty. We had the chili verde and carnitas. Tortillas are homemade and really good, will definitely be back!

We stopped here on a road trip from Seattle to Astoria and couldn’t be more happy with the service and food. We had the tamales, chili Colorado, and some of the fried jalapeños (very spicy). They serve salsa with radishes instead of tortilla chips, which was fun and different.

Plan a detour from the highway to visit this place. Family owned and operated, serving generational recipes. The best corn tortilla I have ever had — seriously, I didn’t know they could be fluffy! — proper tamales, savory carnitas, mole with just the right amount of spice, aguas frescas made in house and not too sweet. I had no room left over for dessert but we’ll be back!

Always my favorite stop between Portland and Seattle. Always. Family run, and damn good. Order anything, although the tamales were especially good this time. Tender and delicious. If you get the menudo, add hominy.

Good. But perfectly average. Not worth $22 for the chile colorado.

Was surprised how small the portion was for the cost. That said it was a good lunch portion. Just way overpriced. $16? Yeah. Worth $16. Not $21.95.

If this is important to you I don’t think they serve chips or don’t for free. They did have carrots and green salsa.

**5 stars aren’t enough!** I can’t believe I didn’t visit La Tarasca sooner. I arrived just before they opened, and noticed the parking lot was already filled with people waiting in their cars—a great sign! Inside, we were warmly greeted by the owner, who shared her family’s rich history and the inspiration behind the restaurant. Instead of the usual chips, they served pickled carrots, which was a delightful and unique experience! I tried my first tamale here, and WOW, I never knew what I was missing. I also ordered the carnitas, and they were absolutely fantastic. I will definitely be back! Thank you so much!

Took my family of 5 here to celebrate a fun weekend at state swim competitions. The food is incredible, the owners were SO welcoming. The best carnitas, chile verde, and tacos we have had. Amazing food and service. I loved all the live plants inside too, especially the Christmas cactus. Will definitely be back!
