I normally get the taco plate but I’m sooo glad I decided to be different today, this combo plate was 10/10!! Guisada is usually disappointing where I’ve tried them. This here was perfect!! I’m very picky about rice and beans also, I think my home made frijoles are the best but I think I have a contender now lol

This place has been a Southside staple for as long as I can remember. I always think back to the parades and the dancing horse—such great memories. It’s been years since I’ve been here, and honestly, not much has changed. Now that I live on the Northside, where there’s a taqueria on nearly every block, the food here really stands out. It’s just as authentic and delicious as I remember. The steak had great flavor, and the service was fast and friendly. Everything came out hot and fresh. I’ll definitely make a point to stop by whenever I’m back on the Southside.

Amazing authentic Mexican food and dining experience. This family owned business has been serving Racine for several decades. Stepping inside this establishment and smelling the fresh tortillas being made, along with the delicious Mexican food freshly being cooked, was an instant attention grabber. I love the small grocery store portion of the business. The owners run the entire operation from cooking, serving and being cashier. The friendly and accommodating service is over the top. My mother and I could’ve spent the entire day visiting with them. Such lovely people and the food is second to none. Amazing flavor, fresh and a authentic as it gets. The homemade pico is the best I’ve ever had! I recommend the combination plate. Try a little of everything. The portions are more than generous. Come hungry! We will be back. Beautiful people, service and food. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

Updated Review – 11/16/24: Once again…. The food was delicious! I normally get tacos when we go there, but this time I got a ground beef burrito. Wow! There is no way you can ever say they don’t fill their burritos with lots of meat. It was huge! I love La Tapatia!

Super friendly and helpful. We got our food to go. It was last minute, so I had to wait… but didn’t care. I looked around at all the fun and interesting items in the store part of La Tapatia. They have everything from beer, to milk, to produce, and more choices of hot sauce than I have ever seen! It makes sense to call in your order, so it is ready when you get there. I highly recommend La Tapatia!!!

Well this place has been a staple of the southside since forever. I always remember the dancing horse in the parade.I haven’t been here in many years it seems not much has changed. Due to me living on the northside where theirs a taquria every other block the food here is unique, just as great as I remember very authentic and good. The steak tasted great, good flavor. The service was very fast and friendly the food was hot. Whenever I’m on the southside of town I’ll be sure to revisit here.

Walked in to get food awhile back. Love the food since I was a kid, but the young lady at the register has an attitude. Lol. She needs to adjust that when she’s taking to guests. I asked for one pound of garnitas and they put in more than one pound. Luckily I was really hungry so it didn’t bother me, but some guests might not like that. Over all amazing food.

This was our first time visiting the corner convenience store/kitchen, but it definitely will will not be our last. All three in the group decided on the same Barbacoa burrito with some tamales. Some in the group liked the pork over the chicken tamales, but both were good. But the burritos… They were to die for! Packed with steak, and the outside shell grilled to a crispy, flaky texture, we all killed those burritos in no time! We would all highly recommend stopping at this place to grab carry out before heading home. Highly recommend!
