Hands down, the BEST restaurant that I’ve EVER dined at, EVER! Seriously though, this place blew me away. The food was incredible. The baked brie was out of this world, and the Risotto – best dish I’ve ever tasted. What a gem of a place. Every bite, of every dish just made me go “Wow” every time!! This restaurant is one of the reasons that I’ll keep coming back to Nanaimo! Absolutely fricken amazing!! And a HUGE hats off to the guy who was working the pizza station last night (Sunday, Feb 15th) He absolutely made our evening. We had a lot of fun chatting with him and watching him do the pizzas. That guy deserves a few beers from the owners!!! More than a few!!! Thanks so much to all involved last night. We had an unforgettable evening and I’ve now found my new favourite restaurant- I absolutely can’t wait to come back to this place.

Phenomenal first experience here! Could not believe the quality of food and service, truly a treat. Perfect way to celebrate an anniversary. Our server, Des, was very kind and incredibly knowledgable of the menu. They did a great job balancing being attentive throughout our meal without being overbearing.
We got 2 sangria roja with the Brie to start, followed by the Gnocchi and Cavatelli… the food was so good that we literally ate in silence, the flavours were just so captivating. You can really tell that the pasta was made in-house! Finished it off with some gelato/sorbetto (also a good choice!). Such a reasonable price for the quality of food; the quality was on par -if not better- than anything you can get at a highly rated restaurant in Vancouver, but this place is more affordable and intimate.
A wonderful night out, I can’t wait to come back 🙂

I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised by both the portion size and the flavour. The meatballs tasted just like the ones I grew up with in my Italian family, authentic & hearty. The fresh-baked bread served alongside was warm, soft, and absolutely delicious. A truly comforting meal.

Top 5 pizzas I’ve ever had. I used to eat here and don’t remember the pizza being close to as good as I had last night. super crisp without being burnt, great fresh basil on every slice, not too much sauce and a nice salty kick from the parmesan on the light and airy crust. Incredible.

A cozy place with good food. We ordered the beef brisket gnocchi (not really my taste but my husband loved it) and the campanelle which I really liked. Their tiramisu was one of the best ones I’ve ever had and I loved that our server was really paying attention to our needs and was super nice. I would probably come back to eat here again when we visit Nanaimo. Will probably try the creamy pastas next time ☺️

I’ve been several times with friends and family. This is such as nice place to eat out.
In the warmer months, there’s often outdoor seating. In the colder months I like to be near the pizza oven.
Food is great. Can get a little rich for me, which is a sign the food is great (I’m just have a bland taste).
The service is usually pretty good.
I love the options, and the pricing is reasonable for such a popular spot.

10/10 recommend. One of the best meals ive had in years. Simple food, excellent preparation. Atmosphere was cozy, service was excellent, kitchen did an astounding job, I wouldnt have changed a thing about my experience except wishing I could have tried more things. Will certainly be back again.

We ate at La Stella Trattoria on Wesley St. for the first time tonight and they were incredible dealing with my son’s multiple anaphylactic allergies and my husband’s allergies. We contacted them ahead of time and the chef marked a menu for our table with items we could safely order. The food was incredible and the service even better. Such a nice ambiance too. Will definitely be going back!
