Spacious restaurant with low to high end options. The food is great and tons of alcoholic drink options. The high end cuisine looked great such as the short rib in mole Oaxaca mole sauce.

I grabbed dinner at La Riviera del Sur by accident when another restaurant I was planning to go to decided to close early.

While it was late, the restaurant was almost completely empty. However the staff was very happy to host me and got me situated right away.

The food was good – the tacos were excellent and in hindsight I should have ordered more of those. I additionally ordered the only chicken main dish they had, and it was acceptable but nothing special. They had a big drink menu and many tequilas and mezcals to choose from.

I think overall this restaurant would have been better if I had made better choices on food selection and additionally if it was at a time when more people were at the restaurant.

An incredible restaurant serving some of the best Yucatan food. The staff are incredibly friendly and they have many different options. My friend and I decided to order multiple small plates to enjoy all the different tastes.

We really enjoyed the Quesadilla de Chaya, the tortilla made from Chaya, a leafy bush filled with nutrition and the Pescadilla. The Tortitas de Platáno Macho y Frijol (fried plantain cakes) and the Marquesitas Yucatecas, a classic dessert, were also good, but since I’m not a fan of cheese, these weren’t as good in my opinion.

It has a nice setting with an open space, plenty of TVs to watch sports, and fun coatracks by each table.

They have menus in Spanish and English, and the staff are competent with both languages

Wow eating a vegetarian meal at 11pm here Saturday night.

So amazing, the service, ambience , and most importantly the food quality and taste.

I ordered the chilli in bean broth, with chips and salsa, a virgin mojito and ended with the mazapan dessert.

It was all so delicious, i was scraping all my plates clean.

This place has great food and great service. If you have tourist-friends and want to take them to a nice place for lunch, this would be the place to go to.
Their tacos de cochinera pibil we’re amazing and the margaritas also great.

The staff was super friendly and even offered my Canadian friend a sample of mezcal so she could know what it was, super quick, and helpful.

I was there for lunch and it wasn’t packed but I’m sure at night it might require a reservation or waiting to get a table. I’d be definitely going back to this place soon, though

Please be careful here and actually read people’s review on their food since it’s more of a drinking venue. I echo with all the reviewers who had a bad food experience here. The shrimps here tasted sour and fishy, meaning it was probably poorly refrigerated. We walked away unable to finish any of our entrees.

Great place to enjoy traditional from Yucatan and to have some drinks. I suggest you order a couple of the starters. All tacos, panuchos and salbutes are really good. Usually there is latin music such as salsa, cumbia and similars (louder than a regular restaurant but not annoying). Recommended for any day of the week.

Great modern cantina, if you want to have good Yucatan food and some drinks.
I had the lime soup, panuchos de cochinita, taco de lechón and poc-chuc. Everything was good. We finished with a mazapan volcano, which was spectacular.
Then we order a bottle of tequila, they charge you 13 drinks for each bottle, and give you enough mixers to enjoy it.
Ambiance was better last time I went, maybe 3 years ago, but it’s ok if you want a chill afternoon with good food and drinks.

I ate at Riviera while visiting CDMX with a friend who had lived in the city previously. This was one of his favorite restaurants and I now know why! We ordered a selection of plates and they were all delicious. The Quesadillas de Chaya and the Sopa de Lima are a must. Wholly recommend this place, especially if you’re looking to experience comida yucateca!
