While it was late, the restaurant was almost completely empty. However the staff was very happy to host me and got me situated right away.
The food was good – the tacos were excellent and in hindsight I should have ordered more of those. I additionally ordered the only chicken main dish they had, and it was acceptable but nothing special. They had a big drink menu and many tequilas and mezcals to choose from.
I think overall this restaurant would have been better if I had made better choices on food selection and additionally if it was at a time when more people were at the restaurant.
We really enjoyed the Quesadilla de Chaya, the tortilla made from Chaya, a leafy bush filled with nutrition and the Pescadilla. The Tortitas de Platáno Macho y Frijol (fried plantain cakes) and the Marquesitas Yucatecas, a classic dessert, were also good, but since I’m not a fan of cheese, these weren’t as good in my opinion.
It has a nice setting with an open space, plenty of TVs to watch sports, and fun coatracks by each table.
They have menus in Spanish and English, and the staff are competent with both languages
So amazing, the service, ambience , and most importantly the food quality and taste.
I ordered the chilli in bean broth, with chips and salsa, a virgin mojito and ended with the mazapan dessert.
It was all so delicious, i was scraping all my plates clean.
Their tacos de cochinera pibil we’re amazing and the margaritas also great.
The staff was super friendly and even offered my Canadian friend a sample of mezcal so she could know what it was, super quick, and helpful.
I was there for lunch and it wasn’t packed but I’m sure at night it might require a reservation or waiting to get a table. I’d be definitely going back to this place soon, though
I had the lime soup, panuchos de cochinita, taco de lechón and poc-chuc. Everything was good. We finished with a mazapan volcano, which was spectacular.
Then we order a bottle of tequila, they charge you 13 drinks for each bottle, and give you enough mixers to enjoy it.
Ambiance was better last time I went, maybe 3 years ago, but it’s ok if you want a chill afternoon with good food and drinks.
