La Nova was born in 1957 when Joe Todaro (Papa Joe) started La Nova Pizzeria on 43 South Niagara Street in the City of Tonawanda. Joe worked 7 days a week with his son, Joe (Big Joe), who was 12 years old.
Big Joe and his father introduced Buffalo favorites such as the White Pizza, Steak and Cheese subs and La Nova’s World Famous Barbeque Wings; an absolute favorite in the Queen City.
When there is an influx of Ex-Buffalonians returning home for the holidays, people just have to have their La Nova.
In 1994, Joey III (LJ) started La Nova Wings Inc. that’s sold Billions of Wings worldwide.
Photos & memorabilia line the walls of this longtime parlor turning out specialty pizzas & wings.

This place has the best bbq wings! They are smoked and has a good flavor to the sauce. Their buffalo wings are just okay. Wouldn’t recommend them. The pizza has sesame seed crust, which is so so good. They sell pizza by the slice and heat it to order. Service was super friendly and very fast. Highly recommend the pizza and the bbq wings!

I always order chicken fingers from here and they’re amazing so I wanted to try something new. I ordered a steak hoagie with banana peppers, onions & cheese. when i got home, I was so disappointed. there was nothing but steak on a soggy roll.

Came on on 10/28 between 2145-2200 to pick up an order.
Lady with pigtails was counting down her register. It wouldve been courteous and basic customer service if she’d have at least acknowledged me instead of having me stand and not receive service for 2+ minutes before another lady gave me my pickup order. A simple, “someone will help you shortly would’ve sufficed”…..
The calzone was average, wings were good. Likely won’t return due to poor customer service.

From the moment we walked in, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Being from out of town, this was our first authentic New York Pizza experience. The gentlemen at the counter recommended a slice of buffalo style pepperoni pizza, as well as buffalo and bbq wings. The slices were huge and very tasty albeit I wish they were heated up a little bit. The wings came out fresh, the sauces were amazing and the texture was perfect. The atmosphere was lively with pictures all over the walls, music, and TVs. The restaurant was clean but a little cluttered.

Best BBQ wings! The jumbo wings are crispy, filled with flavor in a sweet, thick BBQ sauce. You’ll be licking your fingers because they’ll be covered in sauce. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is very Buffalo! I suggest ordering ahead of you can- bc there can be a wait based on how busy they are. Parking is very limited at the West Ferry location. Enjoy!

Used to be the best, hands down, but orders have been terrible in some way every time for a while now. Tonight was this poor excuse for “extra” pepperoni, the receipt shows I was charged but even the standard isn’t this meager.
It’s either the toppings wrong, or the crust order done wrong/ignored entirely, recently had the worst wings of my life as well. At this point it’s a surprise to open the food and see what I actually ordered. Even checking it in store, they’ve refused to fix it.
I’ve kept ordering because it still tastes better than other options for the most part but at this point it’s beyond ridiculous. Very disappointing to see such a decline in a once top notch and extremely reliable establishment.

This is one of the most original pizza spots in all Buffalo. These guys bring old New York energy. But they won’t make New York style pizza exactly, they have one called that but it’s not really it. It’s got like sesame seeds and tastes better than New York style pizza to be honest. La Nova is also known for their wings, they invented a couple types of wings that are now mega popular city wide, and internationally as well.

After we stopped by La Nova. Came here after 10 pm and man it was busy. We found some street parking and headed in. Tons of delivery drivers and tons of to go orders. Easy to order, just walk in, get your slices, they heat it up and you eat there or take it to go. We ordered the Steak, Buffalo Chicken and Pepperoni. Another good spot to eat in Buffalo.
