The service was outstanding. The food however was not. The food took a long time to come out, and some of it was cold. The pizza was very salty. My bolognese tasted too acidic. The artichoke dip was good, and my nephew and niece enjoyed their Mac and cheese and Alfredo.

I don’t want to be negative about family-run restaurants in this climate of their shutting down. I would much rather go to a family-run restaurant that isn’t perfect, than a chain. They’re very committed. The chef & owner came out to talk to us. My companions food was very good they said, they all ordered meat-dishes & thought they were very well cooked. The cheese plate was expensive but reasonable given the high-cost of things right now. The wine was great. My only real complaint was the actual decor. It’s a bit faded with old looking menus & no fresh pepper. Little things that should be worked on/fixed. My dish wasn’t awesome but I’m vegetarian so fair-enough I don’t have as high expectations. It was a pesto-cream pasta dish but too heavy on the cream not enough (home-made) pesto & too garlicky. I would recommend for a night out with friends or romantic. I love family-run restaurants & Italian food & they try hard to give you a great night so give them a chance. None of us want chains to run a city & lose the atmosphere of a family-run restaurant so we need to support them.

The food here is out of this world! Homemade and melt in your mouth. We started with the warm bread & meatball dish with wine & and a smokey old fashioned. Ohhh let me tell you the sauce was perfect to dip our bread in we had to ask for another loaf. The entrées did not disappoint, we had the Pollo A Marsala, Spaghetti with Marinara sauce & Veal with pasta and yes one more loaf of bread. I have never had so much bread EVER! but heck that was so good or maybe was because non of us had eaten that day due to a busy work day. Well of course we saved room for dessert. Tiramisu made with Lady fingers was heaven soaked with the right amount of coffee this melted in my mouth..I loved it sooo much I ordered one to take home to eat with my leftovers; yes I had lots of left after eating too much bread lol. Our waiter was very helpful & kind with great suggestions. I want to bring my parents here I know they will love it!

First of all, I must say, this one of the cutest and cozy places in town! This little hidden gem of a local owned business is so deserving of nothing but praise! The whole staff was very attentive, knowledgeable, and amazingly friendly. The owner is a very nice man that is hands on with his business. Everything that came out of their kitchen was fantastic! They don’t miss a beat when it comes to hitting every note of a dinning experience from the aroma, to the taste, and even the presentation. We also loved that you meal is prepared to order, so it is incredibly fresh, and you are not rushed through your meal in any way. This is definitely going to be one of our new regular places! Bravo to a another great local small business!

My family and I were celebrating Mother’s Day and I picked this restaurant because I didn’t want a chain Italian restaurant and wanted to try something new. I’m sorry to say everything about our experience was bad, from being told one cook called in and they were short on staff, which we tried to keep that in mind and set expectations. I asked if we could have maybe some bread for the table while waiting on our appetizers and was told I would have to buy it, they don’t give you bread. We went ahead and ordered some and after about fifteen minutes they brought us what was the size of a bolillo. Mind you there were seven of us. We waited another fifteen minutes for our other appetizer which was artichoke dip. The texture was not what was expected and it was runny and think like a soup. They brought us a few thinly cut pieces for the dip. Again, we had seven people. Our orders came out after quite awhile and we were hopeful that our wait would be worth it. Sadly, it was not and we all sat in silence. The portions were the smallest I’d seen and the pizza one person ordered looked like the dough wasn’t even cooked. My son in law ordered fried ravioli and they were so burned that the ravioli inside was even dried out. My plate was cold and salty, inedible. The owner came out and I told him how disappointed I was in everything. The plates were tasteless and were portioned for a child. The prices were not worth what we got and no one even wanted their food. We had ordered two bottles of wine and we really tried to make the most of it but we will never go back. It’s one thing to have slow service but you expect to enjoy your food when you pay so much for a special dinner. The owner took off half of some entrees which was fine, but honestly it should have been comped and the appetizers were horrible. It was a bad experience but at least my family and I enjoyed each other’s company while waiting for over two hours. My Mother’s Day dinner was not what I expected and the reason I am spending my time writing this review.

I’ve tried many Italian restaurants in San Antonio and a fair share in New York’s Little Italy, but nothing compared to the Salmon plate I ordered from La Nostra! From my entree to the appetizer my friend and I ordered, everything was so well seasoned and blended amazing. The server was so sweet as well 🙂 it’s my go-to spot now for whenever I’m in the mood for Italian cuisine

We ordered a $16 caesar salad to share. Quite pricey for that salad, and it had about 2 tiny croutons, no anchovies we could find. The pasta bolognese was not bolognese, which is primarily a meat sauce with a little tomato to bind it together. This was a thin tomato sauce with very little meat. At $23 served in a small bowl with no offer of Parmesan, it was highly disappointing. The chef needs to be retrained on that dish, and the owner should review his prices. Had it been a true bolognese it might have been worth it. The $18 (5) stuffed mushrooms we’re supposed to have spinach in them yet they didn’t and the mushrooms were a bit under cooked. Otherwise the flavor was good. The $7 bread order was overcooked with a hard and dark brown crust on top. $78 for those items with a tea and a glass of house Prosecco, not worth the price. We left feeling duped. The service was OK, they tried hard but the one waiter seemed stressed and not very friendly. The pizza looked really good. We might go back to try it, but definitely won’t order anything else here. The atmosphere was nice with music and soft lighting, but the kitchen was super loud (banging pots, pans and plates) and the burning smells and smoke spilled into the dining area.

Beautiful sophisticated atmosphere. Clean and modern restrooms. The Lasagna Bolognese was so flavorful and very well portioned. The truffle fries were salty but it was perfectly balanced by the garlic Aioli. Tiramisu was authentic and so delicious I didn’t want to share. Great service! Quality food and ingredients, so worth the price!
