I recently stopped by La Marsa in South Lyon while craving a good shawarma, and this place absolutely delivered. I like to think of myself as a bit of a shawarma connoisseur, and the beef shawarma here is hands down the best in town. The meat is flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and packed into a wrap that actually feels worth the price. The restaurant has a relaxed Mediterranean café vibe and the service has always been friendly and efficient. If you’re in the mood for Mediterranean food in South Lyon, La Marsa really doesn’t have much competition when it comes to shawarma. It’s an easy recommendation and a spot I’ll keep coming back to.

I was really looking forward to going to a different restaurant and found out that it is no longer there or changed ownership. So I decided to try La Marsa. Overall I thought the food was good. We got hummus for an appetizer and I thought while not the best I have ever had it was very good. The pita bread that it came with was outstanding. My wife could eat just the bread and hummus for a meal. My wife ordered Falafel and it was good but not great. There was good flavor but just felt more fried than I would personally like. I shared a person for two meal with my daughter and it really was food for 4. While it is impressive to see that much food I would prefer less food and better quality. The rice was a little hard but still ok to eat. The meat all around was just ok. The chicken was probably my least favorite but overall I was disappointed with the meat. The service was pretty good and overall I was satisfied with the place I just wouldn’t put it up against some of the better Mediterranean food that I have had. I gave a 4* mainly because of the hummus and bread. If you want decent Mediterranean food and a lot of it I would recommend this place.

Pricey for pretty standard fare. I got sticker shock when I saw it was $22 for shwarma, so I ordered a $13 regular Greek salad on a dinner plate.
Doesn’t say anything about onions on the menu and it was loaded with them. Who puts onions on a Greek salad? I should have asked for dressing on the side as it was absolutely dripping with it.
Service was great and warm Pita with Garlic dip was excellent.

My car battery died right after I dropped off my parcel at UPS store next door, and nobody there had jumper cables. I popped over to La Marsa looking for help, it was dinner rush and they were super busy. But a young gentleman named Abdul came out to help me jump my car—absolute lifesaver!

First time trying this location….very impressed with the dining area. I got a carry-out this time, but looking forward to dining- in next time. Shish kabobs were excellent as were the grape leaves… and the smoothie was very good! Great service, very friendly…can’t wait to eat here again!!

We’ve always really liked the food here, but the service is great as well. We had a mixup with our order, and our phone happened to be updating when they called. They drove the food to our house and refused a tip. It’s great to see a business treat its customers so well.

Tonight I went with a friend and ordered the Vegetarian Platter. Both waiters just kept bringing one plate of food out after another. We had so many delicious dishes on our table that we barely had room for our dinner plate! And the food was absolutely amazing!! Plus we took at least another couple of meals in leftovers home with us.

Food is delicious! Best Mediterranean in the suburbs. Hummus is great, and I love the different sauces or dressing they put on the chicken. I did find their Baklava overpriced.
