Good service, specialty coffee took longer than expected. I liked the food. Tomato Basil soup was a little acidic for my taste but once adding some sugar to cut it, the soup was much better. They have a special with half Quiche, soup and salad or pasta for 10.99. Offers fresh bread for free. There’s strawberry and blackberry preserves of sorts to pair with it. I didn’t get a dessert but they looked lovely.

Still tasty after all these years. La Madeleine in Bethesda is an old favorite… charming and rustic: the inexpensive food is worth the trip any day of the week. Delicious soups and salads and yummy desserts make for a lovely respite… the warmth of the fire completes the ambience. Good value for money in otherwise expensive downtown Bethesda.

This is like a French Panera. I prefer the Gaithersburg location but this location is also good, albeit less clean. The food though, is still good, and I like getting their shrimp pesto (the freshly cooked bread was amazing)

Stumbled upon this cafe browsing downtown Bethesda. Delicious pastries and omelette with self-serve breads in a cafeteria style setting. Yes, I fumbled at first but they read my confused look and guided me along the line. Worth it. Perfect for a light Sunday morning. Enjoy!

Putting bread in to a cuisinart does Not make French Toast ! and the roach walking on the wall did Not add to the eateries charm. That said, the pastries to-go were good

Picture speaks for itself. This lady was sleeping next to cash register for almost 4 minutes. Finally i left. When I saw from outside through the window, she was still in deep sleep.
