I order a Nacatamal this morning and it was completely disgusting. no flavor and it was so dry and old I had to throw it to the garbage. $12 for 1 nacatamal…. Do not buy nacatamal here.
Will not visit them anymore.

I bought my plate from the stand of foods already pre-made (didn’t order from the menu) which is usually cheaper than eating inside the restaurant.
I got everything that would normally come on a plate, except I omitted the meat (because I only wanted it vegetarian). I was surprised when she charged me almost $13. So I asked her why it was so much for only what I received, without meat. She then asked someone else working in the back, and then I was told again that it costs close to $13. So I payed it, and left sad, because I know they overcharged me. I even asked her “If I had gotten this same exact meal with meat, how much would this have cost me?” To which she replied, “$13”. Therefore this would mean that the meat portion costs like $1 and the rest of my plate was like $12. I told her this makes no sense.
They don’t seem vegetarian friendly in pricing this more appropriately. I’m glad that I could get this meal, but the price was too much.. I know that when I order food from another Nicaraguan restaurant (nearby here), they always cut me some slack when I ask for a meatless meal. So that’s why I was so surprised that you over priced my portion, even after I asked about it before making my payment (you could’ve given a little grace). The food was good. I just won’t desire to return here due to the over charge price payed for only a vegetarian plate.

Extremely over priced for what you are getting. The restaurant is not the cleanest with fly tape hanging in dining area. Super loud music! The meat while over seasoned was tasty. Not going to be coming here again.

First time visiting, and I can safely say that food quality was great. I had the churrasco with gallo pinto and maduros. It also came with cabbage salad. Our party was given chips with frijoles y queso, which were also pretty good. The cacao was of pretty good quality. I wish the prices were listed on the menu, but that’s about it. The staff was pretty attentive. We went on a Sunday close to 4pm. Will definitely be coming back.

What a delicious food and nice service.
Ask for crab soup, shrimp or beef. Don’t forget “gallo pinto”. Plenty variety of plates and flavors for you to choose from. Service from staff will make you feel like you are a high class customer. Such a great culinary experience!. No doubt: I’m coming back.

Did not enjoy my experience whatsoever. Waitress took 15 minutes to get our drinks then another 20 minutes to take out order. THEN another 45 minutes for our food. I ordered and appetizer as my meal… my husband ordered another small simple dish. No checking in with us, another hour to get the check. Food was sub par, maybe 2 stars but they charge 5 star prices

There are so many plates to choose from, but Carne Asada (grill or charbroil steak) with Gallo pinto (rice and beans) and plantains is all I need.
Well, you should also order some Queso frito (fried cheese).
It is one of the closest restaurants for Nicaraguan food or fritanga to North Broward County and not bad at all.

Maybe the owner should lower the music. Not everyone wants to eat with the music of the owner’s choice blasting in people’s ears. It’s a restaurant not a bar. Especially when families come during the day.

I came to have lunch with a colleague of mine who highly recommended this restaurant because he is from Nicaragua . I had the Antojito Casero (yuca, pork rinds, ground sausage, fried cheese, and cabbage salad. The meal was quite tasty although the pork rinds didn’t seem too fresh. The wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful although it took a while to serve the meals. I found the beverages a bit pricey: $2+ for a bottle of water. Overall, it’s a nice little restaurant down the street from Broward College South Campus. I’ll definitely be back!
