Me and my husband had the most amazing first experience at La Grotta. The service and atmosphere was wonderful but the food absolutely blew us away. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We had appetizer portions of pasta for our appetizers just so we could try more of the pasta. The beggars purse and ravioli were our absolute favorites. They gave us complimentary glasses of bubbly for our anniversary and we had the amazing chocolate torte with gelato for dessert. We will absolutely return here!

It was phenomenal. Amanda was the bartender, one the greatest of the new generation. She had all the answers. Best drinks, best food. Her service was amazing. Upon her recommendation we chose the lobster pasta which was some of the best pasta sauce I’ve ever had, loaded with tender lobster and a creamy and rich taste to it. We got two Caesar salads, which was the best I think I’ve had in Atlanta for sure. The crème brûlée was amazing, perfectly torched, the second or third best I’ve ever had. The meal did not miss. You have to make a reservation and the dress code is strictly enforced. I will definitely return, money well spent.

An authentic Italian gem! I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! The food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing—definitely traditional Italian cuisine at its best! This spot is located in the basement of a small apartment building, so you might not expect it to be as impressive as it is when you first pull up. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu because everything I had was fantastic!

I love their mussels for appetizer, my husband loves the caesar salad. For main meal we’ll always share 3-4 pasta dishes (you can order any of their pasta dishes as appetizer size, which is great for trying different ones). For desert, the Creme Brulee is just fantastic, especially when paired with their vanilla gelato.

Was lucky to get a reservation for New Year’s Eve the day before. Been fore and it’s been great. Upon sitting down we were informed there was a pre-fixe menu (this should have been stated when making the reservation). We were specifically coming for an entree that was not offered. We inquired about this and was told this menu was it, no substitutions. We ordered lobster ravioli (very fishy tasting couldn’t finish it) and Ahi tuna. Both appears to be plated well in advance. Ofre Entrees we ordered the Filet and Dover sole. The filet was very tough and the Dover sole was rubbery. We both should have sent them back but being new years eve we stomached it. Well that was a big mistake because a few hours later I got ill (ate the fish). and was down an entire day after. Upon leaving we noticed several tables had items that were not on the pre-fixe menu. Specifically pasta with the Filet instead of potato as we asked and chicken that was not on the menu and was told absolutely no to when inquiring.

We went here to celebrate a graduation and it was so beautiful! Downstairs of an apartment complex and we sat outside on the patio area. Very intimate and pretty. We got the prosciutto appetizer and the calamari. They were both good but I will say the portion sizes are on the smaller side. I got the Sachetti pasta which was incredible, and I had a great grapefruit cocktail as well. We ended the night with dessert (delicious crème brûlée) and they gave us some free champagne to celebrate the graduation! Wonderful service and a nice atmosphere.

I’ve heard great things about this place, but we were so disappointed. Went for a late Valentines dinner, and the service was spectacular. The wait staff was incredibly attentive and personable; if anything, they make the experience worth the visit. However, the food left so much more to be desired. My husband ordered the salmon, and for some reason, it tasted like gas station-roller hotdogs? I’ve never experienced this phenomena in my life; it was a first. The staff were extremely accommodating in response to our complaints, but I can’t help but wonder how on Earth you make a fish from the sea taste like processed land meat? We tipped well, service was amazing, but what the hell?

August 2020: If you love real Italian food made with real fresh pasta and real fresh ingredients then this is the place for you. It is a small restaurant with a very intimate setting and the best Italian food you will ever eat in your life. All of the waiters are very attentive to your needs. Dress code is business casual and reservations are a must!
