People always say Japanese food is the food eaten by the eyes due to the pleasant presentation but small/even miserable portions, but here you can harvest both the elegant serving presentation and the good portion of food. Both eyes and stomach are happy : )
As for the ramen particularly, although they don’t have many choices or options on the menu, their tonkatsu ramen is really something, better than any of the ramen places we have been in the Greater Vancouver Area, even better the three ramen places we tried in Tokyo this summer. We don’t really see any value traveling to Vancouver or Richmond to line up for those fancy but low value ramens.
We have been there a few times in the past a few months, it was such a nice experience every single time, plenty of parking, nice dining environment (table big enough especially), warm welcoming services, the good food and affordable bills. We would definitely come back for more in the future.
Moreover, atmosphere and staff are very welcoming.
We felt it had an over powering msg flavor. Just returned recently to celebrate a friend’s birthday and ordered from their Japanese menu and everyone was thoroughly impressed. Service was also excellent. We will be returning on a regular basis!
I ordered the Spicy Salmon Don, and the spicy sauce was pretty good. Definitely had that spicy and sweet kick to it like most sashimi and spicy gochujang based sauces. The salmon to rice ratio was a little off, as they jam packed that bowl with rice. Value wise though it was pretty average. It may not be the best deal in the lower mainland for a sashimi rice bowl, but the price was pretty fair.
Ordering was quite easy as they have the self-serve iPad option, where you can just use the iPads to send in your order. The tables and seating arrangements were quite spacious.
Overall I’d come here again if I’m craving sushi, especially after a good shopping spree across the street.
From the street this place looks like it has few available parking stalls, but there’s actually quite a fair bit of open stalls past the initial entrance to the plaza – absolutely love that.
Food and service is great.
I always get Agedashi tofu, salmon sashimi and golden bridge roll.
Needless to say that Best Japanese food restaurant!
Service could be a bit more friendly and proactive.
Edit: AVOID AVOID AVOID Gimbab and Ramen… Not worth the $21 to get instant noodle xin ramenthat is available at every supermarket… see photo
Edit #2: avoid tofu soup, it tasted like the msg or mixing from instant noodle… And the service was so bad this time. Avocado was not fresh at all and some parts are too ripe (black), there was also a small strip of plastic wrapping in fish katsu. When I reported this to the server he just shrugged it off with a sorry, zero care of customer concern. Time to find a new joint to dine.
