Huge portions, attentive and friendly servers.
The steak add on for the pesto pasta was not great, but the pasta itself was great. the braised lamb and risotto was very good, with the salty lamb balancing out the creamy risotto. By far the best item we ordered was the chicken parm. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, with the chicken batter being perfectly seasoned and chicken juicy. Definitely recommend the chicken parm.

La Cucina has the potential to be the best experience on Frigate Bay Road but unfortunately it fell short of my expectations.
For an Italian restaurant I expected to experience more flavours and textures in my dish. The pasta sauce was more oil than body and the chicken parm was soggy. Though the presentation was nice the food lacked love as it was real close to flavourless.
My server dissuaded me from order dessert and was unable to answer my questions about the wine selection and pairings.
The restaurant layout and decor were appealing.
I hope they improve when I visit the island in the future.

Chanel provided 5 star service for my family on our visit. The staff are most cordial warm and welcoming. We really enjoyed the presentation of the meals, and all the flavors that went into them. We order the 1/2 rack of lamb which is more than enough for an individual, the steak, meatball marinara pasta, the Atgentinia Malbec and for desert We had the tiramisu, cheese cake, and another whose name I forgot. The entire experience was wonderful.

Atmosphere is nice, service very friendly, however they can not cook fish and see food. First time I got octopus and scallops salad. Scallops were cooked good, but lobster had pieces of shells. Glad I didn’t broke my teeth. Second time I got salmon. Salmon was severally overcooked, super dry, but vegetables on a side were pretty much raw.
Maybe pasta or meet is better, I haven’t tried.

Food was ok. Nothing to write home about. Service was awful. We were an inconvenience to our waitress. Barely came by, and when she did if we asked for anything the body language was all attitude. Sat there for 5 minutes with nothing to eat our desserts with. She’d rather be hanging by the kitchen talking than actually working.

So, I was a little hesitant to dine here after reading some poor Google reviews. I’m so glad we decided to give it a try for ourselves…. The service was fantastic, especially considering the restaurant was pretty full. And the food was AWESOME. I had the lasagna which was really good, and me fiancé loved his chicken parmigiana (which is the BIGGEST serving I’ve ever seen in my life).
Overall our experience was great and we would definitely eat here again.

Ate here at my husband’s choice on our resort day and it was amazing. Everyone loved their dishes and was surprised at how excellent it was for being an Italian place on an island. We ate off site most of the time, but definitely glad we tried this one. The gnocchi in rose sauce was some of the best gnocchi I have had since my last Italy trip.
