For over 30 years this is the best most Authentic food I’ve ever had. Still go eat there matter of fact. Please share!!! You will not be disappointed, and I bet you never find another Smothered Burrito that can compare!!!! Ask for a scoop of rice too! Don’t forget chips and salsa!

This is a family owned restaurant. Only the parents and kids work there. They have the best smothered burritos!! I also love their chile relleno plate. Portions are big. You won’t be disappointed. In Gilcrest near the liquor store.

If I could I would rate it 100 out of 10 the perfect Egg good beans with cheese the rice the tortilla to the green salsa very flavorful and the scene reminds me of going to Mexico chillin at my tias house hits home for me the food was so good we had to ask for boxes and a dozen fresh tamales. Four of our family ate at La Cocina yesterday and the burritos and Mexican plate were delicious. We also purchased a quart of rice, quart of refried beans, and a dozen tamales to take home. Love that sweet little lady and her husband and family. We live in Sterling but try to go there when we are up that way. ♥

I was looking for breakfast burritos. I walked inside, and I wait. It’s almost lunchtime, but there are no customers, TBH it didn’t look like they were expecting any, on a Friday! I asked if they had breakfast burritos, in English AND Spanish, and the old dude looked at me like I was an alien. Then a woman, who maybe is his wife, came out from the kitchen and told him what I said (I don’t get it either) and he just mumbled something and walked away. Which was okay because by then I was ready to leave. How does someone stay in business running it like that, I have no idea. Maybe they were covering for someone? I hope so, for their sake.
I didn’t want to give them one star only because it would not be fair to them, since I didn’t get to try their food. If I’m in that area again I would like to go back and ask them to make me something, maybe under $7 since I don’t want to just waste my money lol
