The food here was fantastic! I had lobster nachos and my friend had seafood enchiladas. The queso that they brought with the chips and salsa was some of the best we ever had. The salsa had just the right amount of zip! Margaritas were super tasty! The prices were very reasonable! I highly recommend it!

First time I have ate here. Nice restaurant however the service was not good our waitress was nice however we only seen her once. The food looked really good the taste was bland and food was cold I had scallops and shrimp. Scallops we not seasoned. The people that work here look very tired or mad. I won’t be visiting here any time soon however I will give it another t in a few months.

It is crazy cold outside so pulling into a vacant parking lot at lunchtime didn’t phase me as much. Inside the decor was cool Mexicana though the booths were just slightly worn. My burrito was pretty good…the shredded carnitas were very juicy but a little bland. Definitely food for those with a sensitive palate. My big disappointment was paying $4 for 1/4 cup of what I want to call queso but was really just processed cheese. The waiter was friendly, but he could have warmed me about adding the side of cheese. So here it is 3star for family dining 21/2 for solo if you want real flavor.

Nice clean restaurant, stopped on a Monday night so it was empty. Took the plunge based on the other reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Had the fajita burrito and it was delicious. Service was fantastic and my meal was ready super fast.

This is a great Mexican restaurant in Salem, Illinois. Convenient location just off interstate 57 if you are tired of fast food on a road trip! The staff is extremely friendly, the ambience is very warm and festively decorated, extremely clean. Lobster quesadilla was one of the most delicious things Ive ever eaten. Be sure to get a side of beans because their beans are amazing! Also recommend the enchiladas cocina.

Order the sirloin steak and was served a ground beef patty ask to change to the t bone since I wanted an actual steak to be told that if I switched I’d have to still pay for the sirloin that had one tiny bite taken out of it will not be back

La Cocina is among the best Mexican restaurants in the area. The service is very good. Most of the wait staff speak poor English but it doesn’t create any issues because they know their menu and they take their time helping you sort it out.
The atmosphere and food are true to a traditional Mexican experience.
