This is the best sushi I’ve found in the greater Birmingham area.
Amazing green tea
Super tasty takoyaki
Great value on the mini love boat. We asked for all sushi instead of half sushi half sashimi. The fish had great flavor.
Firecracker roll was a little sweet for me.
But if you like nigiri this is the place to go.

If Google got rid of all the reviews more than a few years old, this place would have a perfect five-star rating. Clean. Simple aesthetic. Japanese caliber service and respect from staff. Great portions. Incredible value. Had sashimi, sushi rolls, rice, and soup. Five stars on every single item. Even the vegetables were incredibly fresh alongside the other food items mentioned. Nothing frozen. I will be back, and I will be back often. They even have an incredibly good little menu for kids. So glad to find traditional Japanese food and culture so close to home in Hoover and Bluff Park.

OSushi was a wonderful experience. My husband had sashimi that he said was fresh and delicious. I had chicken (i am not a fish eater), it was delicious too. I will not mind going with my husband at any time! Service was great, atmosphere was beautiful.

Our waitress was so lovely and lively—and so highly tolerant of my indecision! Ha-ha-ha! The interior décor and presentation of the food were so lovely, too. And the food tasted wonderful! I love that they have some more unusual-for-the-area Japanese foods available, too, like takoyaki and ika maruyaki.

I’ve been going to O’Sushi almost weekly for a couple years and never took the time to leave a review until now. If you love raw tuna rolls and yum yum sauce, theirs is personally my favorite and the best of all the other sushi restaurants around Hoover. I order the same dishes frequently (Roll Tide Roll and the Fantasy Island) and each time I go they present the dish beautifully, and a little differently each time. Today I got the Fantasy Island and the Sushi Chef presented it in the shape of what looks like a crab haha (At least that’s what I saw). They are kind of tucked away so they were one of the last sushi places I tried since moving to Birmingham and it’s a shame. Don’t let the small outside presence fool you, their quality is above par in comparison to the other sushi restaurants around the area! Also pictured below is the Roll Tide Roll

Honestly, I always love it here. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Great food, reasonable price for it. It’s never very crowded, never too long of a wait for food or drinks. The staff is great and I’ve never had any trouble in all my (very many) times of coming to this restaurant. I can’t find a bad word about it. Even their saké is pretty good, and I’m usually picky about it.
I have plenty more photos, but these are the most recent. I recommend the crunchy shrimp roll. Happy dining!

The fish was so fresh and my sushi expertly crafted. I loved the miso soup so much and I can’t get enough of it. Service was excellent and I love the clean and simple atmosphere. I’m bringing my boo with me next time

I’m a Dasher and I walked in and they had trash all over the county had food. They should have already gotten rid of and thrown away sitting on the counter next to Rice they were using to make sushi. Also they’re very impolite also takes forever to get my order. I watched three door dashers come in and get their order even though I was here first. This is inconvenience of the customer not to me but just letting them know this is very unprofessional. Not a very clean place behind the counter
