Of course the butter croissants, American butter or French butter, is the best you’ll find in the East Bay.
The tiny round pastries with the dab of jelly in them are super good, very sweet, but super good.
Always a line to get in. Only three or four people can fit inside at a time to order.
A little inconsistent, some days croissants are dry and crispy a third of the way in, other times They are very moist and just the outer layer crispy, so if it doesn’t seem the best you’ve ever had one day come back another day and it will be.
SIX stars, all around!
Today my experience was completely different. When I walked in, there was only one customer being helped by three staff members, yet the service was extremely slow. I waited for quite a while and eventually had to leave without ordering.
It’s honestly sad to see such a beloved local bakery lose the atmosphere and efficiency it once had. I truly hope the new owners can improve the service and bring back the charm that made this place so special.
Fresh and crispy croissant gets the stars, muffins with ham&onion, with raisins were just there, nothing to say.
Cappuccino thought was bitter and smelled burned (extra dark roast) with no warning during ordering.
Place is very tiny inside with no tables. Has few (3-4) cute, outside coffee tables.
Overall, good one time experience.
These were the best Kouign Amann pastries I’ve ever had. Crispy/flakey/sweet on the outside and soft/moist on the inside. The variety of flavors were all delicious.
Pastries are so much more affordable in California than in Hawaii and to get true French pastries is even harder. A visit to this little bakery is a must!
