The Italian Rum Cake was absolutely delicious and a gorgeous creation. The ladies in the shoppe were also wonderfully professional and welcoming (odd thing in New York given the lack of courteous individuals and severe absence of work ethic). It’s a small shoppe but their commitment to excellence is huge!! This cake made it all the way from New Yuk to Dallas on a cooler road trip that lasted 48 hours and was absolutely delicious; it was a Christmas cake for my Mom.

Side note: this bakery is located on Mulberry Street and is different (and better in my opinion) than the tourist trap Ferrara on 195 Grand Street.
I’m not Italian, so maybe there is something I don’t know, but this bakery is my favorite Italian bakery in NYC. I found this bakery over 10 years ago and they have remained consistent over time, and whenever I come to NYC I come here.
Their original cannolis are 10/10. Their Linzers are also phenomenal. I do recommend getting the full size versions of everything rather than the minis because they are slightly different. If you are looking for budget cookies/pastries I would go elsewhere, but if you don’t mind splurging for excellence, then do it.
There’s not really seating, so I reccomend taking the pastries home and having them with a cup of tea.

This cute little bakery has a wide selection of sweets! I had the biscotti and americano coffee. The biscotti was fresh and with good flavor! Small seating inside. Very friendly staff!

My favorite bakery for old fashioned Italian goodies. Staff are always warm and friendly. The offerings are so fresh! Featuring a picture of my favorite must have. The fruit tart. Not too sweet. With a hint of chocolate at the base. Always hits the spot. It is always worth the treat!

I’ve been coming here for YEARS! I get the same thing every time, a small lobster roll and a cannoli. It tastes divine every single visit. I’ve had the cookies a few times and those are delicious as well. Liz always gets me together, and Olga is such a sweetheart. I hadn’t been in a while since I moved away and they remembered my face. I will always return here.
